RUE HAD NOT PLANNED on spending her sixteenth birthday with a bunch of vampires learning how to fight other vampires.
But the sight of Jasper throwing his brother through the air had her a little intrigued as she watched the dark haired one slam into the ground.
The date had already been set, so there was little Sam could do after finding out from Quil that the twins already had prior commitments.
Although, the plans had quickly been cancelled, seeing as they weren't left with much of a choice. Plus, neither of them were too fond on missing out on how to fight newborn vampires, especially with an army of them headed their way.
"I'm sorry your party got cancelled." Quil said as he trotted alongside his imprint.
"It's fine," Rue replied. "You know Tama and I don't really care. The party was just really an excuse to eat cake and hang out with you guys."
Quil brushed up alongside her. "Yeah, but now I have to wait to give you your presents."
Sam's voice interrupted them as he spoke through the mind link. "Come on."
The wolves trailed behind their alpha before filtering through the trees, making themselves known. A sudden surge of anger rang through Rue's chest.
Rue, as well as the rest of the wolves, looked at Paul immediately. "Paul, what is it?" Malia asked.
"Why is she here?" He snapped. "It's too dangerous."
It was at that moment that she realized the Kaneko's were present, standing in between the wolves and the Cullens.
Sam didn't react, it was clear he already knew they would be in attendance. "They know what their getting themselves into. Ezra's father made the decision for her to be here. She'll be fine."
Paul growled in response, catching the attention of the surrounding people. Malia tensed up. "Calm down."
