Craig and I got some drinks at a restaurant that had newly opened a few years ago. I had wanted to go but didn't get the chance to. It was a fast food restaurant so it was cheap.

We sat down, and he mentioned how he would order since he had been here before. "Did you come with your friends?" I asked, wanting to know more about him. Even if it had been something small or insignificant, it's still nice to know things about him.

He gave me a smug smile, "I used to work here part-time to earn some easy cash in the summer." I was a bit surprised at his answer, I couldn't really see him working in customer service. I chuckled to myself, thinking about it.

He could tell I was imagining it and lightly smacked the side of my head, "Hey! What was that for!?" I bitterly cried out to him, I didn't expect him to do that. I suddenly noticed his ears were red, "Don't imagine that." He quietly muttered. Was he embarrassed?

I couldn't help but want to tease him more, but I regained my dignity and smiled, "Alright, I won't." He was so cute, I just wanted to eat him up sometimes. I suddenly became aware of what I had just thought. Okay, that was weird of me. I felt my face turn pale, feeling myself cringe at my thoughts. How embarrassing...

"Hurry up and go order, lunch is short." I quickly muttered, feeling self-conscious now. He smiled, "We could always skip and just relax here." I suddenly went back to my normal self, "No way! My mom will kill me!" I screeched, quickly turning down his idea. I had already done enough stupid shit that had gotten me in trouble enough at home. Deciding to skip would only worsen it. Not only will my mom's strict behavior increase, but I might as well start falling behind in my classes.

He raised his hands in defeat, "Relax, I was just kidding." He added, composing his face back to normal, trying to contain himself from chuckling, yet nevertheless, I could still sense his teasing tone, which urged me to want to punch him. "Just go order." I sighed, feeling more defeated. I told him my order, and then he smoothly headed over to the cashier.

I couldn't help but smile a little. Spending time with him was fun. I couldn't help but be in a good mood whenever he's near. I had never expected myself to be this entertained while with him if I had to be honest. Back then, he was just someone I knew little about. Of course, I've known him since we lived in this small town all our lives, but we weren't that close. If anyone had told me that I would be hanging out with him this often, I wouldn't have ever believed it.

But then again, after everything that has happened and his attitude, it's not that bad. I continued to subconsciously gaze over at him, getting lost in my own thoughts. That was until I abruptly got pulled back when Craig came back with our food.

We continued to chat as we ate, not realizing how fast time went by, and soon enough, lunch had ended.

Time had passed quickly that day, for once, I felt a little sad about it ending so fast. I must've been getting greedier each second. It's difficult to hold onto something that you're uncertain of, I guess.

Today's weather was harsher than most days, which was strange since it was unexpectedly warmer earlier. I buried my face deeper into my scarf as I walked home. It's a shame the bus stop isn't closer to my house.

As I walked home, I noticed a familiar figure in the distance. I swiftly lifted my head up to get a better view, I was a bit surprised to see that it was David. He smiled gently when he noticed me, and then he began heading towards me.

"Oh, hey, David." I spoked out, feeling a tad bit awkward at the sudden situation. He quickly picked up on it and chuckled softly, "My bad, I didn't mean to surprise you." He apologetically smiled at me. Somehow, I couldn't tend to get used to it. Although I'm guessing it's probably because I'm not used to being around someone so cheery as him.
