It was nice to have a day off of everything and laze around. Especially on hot days like this one. I could lay on my bed with some iced coffee and check my insta. Plus, it was a nice excuse to wear only shorts, and nothing else. But around noon, during the biggest heat wave, I heard a knock on my door. At first, I thought that my bestie had come earlier, but when I opened the door, it caught me by surprise. It was Seonghwa. He was dressed up nicely and had on some glittery makeup, just like yesterday.
"Hello?" I said, surprised to see him.
"Hi," he smiled at me, then looked down. "I wanted to come by and thank you again for yesterday."
"There's no need for that," I giggled.
"Also, I wanted to ask if it's okay with you, to give me your insta account." he blushed slightly. Maybe it was because of the heat.
"Sure," I agreed, typing my name on his phone.
"Hong_stagram? It's cute," he smiled once again before giving me a pack of biscuits, the same, as the ones from yesterday. "Thanks again. Well, I gotta go."
"Bye."
He left as fast as he came by. I stood at the door for a moment before going back inside. He was an odd one I had to admit. Yet it was somehow cute. On my way in, I dropped the sweets at the kitchen and dumped myself on the bed again. A perfect moment for an insta notification. I had a new follower called Hwa_Seong98. I had nothing better to do, so I checked up his account. It was full of his selfies and pictures of flowers. It had a soft pink vibe to it. Kinda cute, like the owner. I followed him back.
Half an hour later, I got a call from my best friend. Yunho called to ask what to bring us for lunch. I was hungry enough to tell him anything would do. Great mistake. He brought us some noodles with veggies. Even tho he knew very well that I hated veggies. That sly puppy.
"But you said anything!" he said when I complained.
"Yunho, we've been friends for so many years. You know I hate veggies!" I responded.
"But, hyung, they are good for you," he argued.
Anyways, in the end, I was too lazy to cook and had to eat what he gave me. That guy was impossible to argue with. When I tried, he always used those puppy eyes to win. I had no choice but to give up.
...
"So, hyung, is there anything new? Yesterday you texted about the new guy here," of course, he had to ask.
"Yeah, Seonghwa, the new tenant," I responded. "He doesn't seem bad. Actually, he's kinda smash. And today, he came by to ask for my insta," that was all he needed to hear.
"Gimme!" he almost yelled at me.
So I got my phone and went to Seonghwa's account to show it. Yunho took my phone as fast as Flash. This guy was a sucker for drama, like an old lady. Well, he checked up Hwa's insta, sent it to himself and gave me back my phone. His big puppy eyes looked at me with such flames in them. I felt like burning.
"He looks so different from your usual type," Yunho said. "But a change isn't a bad thing."
"I have no intentions of dating him. He's just a neighbour," I rolled my eyes, opening a game to play.
"But he does. What kind of guy will come to you and beg for your contact info? Definitely, someone who likes you!" and the drama queen within Ho woke up.
"I'll reject if he confesses. Let's switch that topic already!" I rolled my eyes before continuing to play.
Yunho got visibly annoyed, he wanted more tea, but there was non. It was as I said it. Nothing more, nothing less. It wasn't a time for dating. Plus, he was indeed far from my type. The only thing matching was that Seonghwa was a little cute. Nothing more.
"Then about our next gig," he began. "It's going to be a bigger place than last time. We should prepare more."
"You've got a point, Yuyu. Let's go practice tomorrow if the rest are free."
We hung out longer, playing on my console and sipping 'tea' because he had tons of it. Sure, he was a great gossiper when he wanted. I couldn't deny it. Maybe that was why I had him as a bestie. It could never be boring around him.
Yunho:
Once I left Joong's place, I followed that Seonghwa guy and checked his profile once again. He was nothing like Joong's taste. but it was refreshing to see someone not so... dark. His usual type were alt guys, like a mixture of bad boy and rock but in human form. And that guy was being bright and pink as a Barbie. For a moment, I wondered if I should text that guy. Then I remembered if I'd left it to Joong nothing would happen. So I texted him anyways.
"Hello, I'm Jung Yunho, Hongjoong's best friend. I was wondering if you'd want to visit our concert in two days at XXXXX bar?" I texted that guy expecting not to get an answer. To my surprise, he replied quickly.
"Honghjoong's friend? Can you prove it?" he replied. He was cautious, as he should be. So I sent him photos of me, Joong and our band.
"We play new rock, more on the soft side. Hongjoong hyung will be glad if you come. He's a little shy to ask you himself," I played it foul, hoping that guy wouldn't text Joong and ask him about it.
"Umm, okay. Please, give me the address and time," he was quick.
Afterwards, we texted some. Seonghwa got to know me and trusted me a bit. When he was hesitant, I just had to mention my hyung, and Hwa would warm up again. He sure had a crush on Hongjoong. I had no idea how that midget could pull up so easy, both guys and girls. It was some secret charm, working like a magnet.
