Terminally Ill Sonic AU

Introduction Chapter.

Mobius's public high school.. It looked welcoming at first sight and on all the advertisement pictures online, but for multiple students, it was like as if hell found a gateway to their own planet. One of those unfortunate students that see the school as HELL is Sonic the Hedgehog. He was a sickly blue hedgehog, who was regularly known as being the tall, slender, and sickly hedgehog that could barely stand under the weight of his own backpack.

Sonic was regularly found passed out in the hallways due to exhaustion from his illness, or resting in the nurse's office. Ever since he was born, doctors have tried figuring out what was wrong with him, but to no avail. Sonic came out with 2 siblings and was a part of triplets, but it's baffling how he was the only one that came out with this type of sickly curse. Since it didn't take long for his peers to notice how incapable he was of verbally and physically defending himself, he instantly became a target to people who were stronger than him, which was basically his entire school. His only friend was the 2-tailed fox he befriended named Tails, who although is middle school age, was actually smart enough to bump himself up all the way to freshman year. Because Tail's was born with a type of mutation that gave him an extra tail, he was the only other student that got harassed as much as Sonic. Sonic had trouble making friends since nobody was patient with him, nobody liked him, and everybody saw him as weak, but Tail's was different.

The pair instantly clicked and became almost inseparable. They were known as the school misfits, LITERALLY. They didn't fit in anywhere except each other, Even the OTHER kids nobody liked wouldn't accept them as friends, and that's just a low blow.. The only students that would try to protect Tails and Sonic from as much harassment as possible, Were Manic and Sonia, Sonic's siblings.

Sonia and Manic didn't mind being seen around Tails or their own brother, because they already weren't very popular, and were very capable of defending themselves, unlike Sonic and Tails.

Sonic was a straight-A student, but for him, he'd trade all his smarts to just be seen as normal, so he could stop all the torment he was subjected to on a daily basis. His health gradually worsened the longer he stayed in school, he was left alone in middle school, but it seems like everybody in high school simply wouldn't grant him mercy. He'd spend evenings crying into his pillow and wishing he was dead, so he would stop being in so much pain and exhaustion all the time from his tormentors and his illness. Even his own father didn't want to spend any time with him. Even to his family, he was just the "sick kid". He didn't feel that way if it was with his siblings, they treated him like he was equal.

His family was too busy to homeschool him, and too poor to put him into a special school or a private school where his harassment wouldn't be as severe. There were a lot of students who felt bad for Sonic, but they wouldn't DARE go close to him, because that would be like committing social suicide. Some students didn't care and ended up having to switch schools from the amount of harassment they were confronted with just by being SEEN around Sonic.. Sonic felt entirely stuck.. Until one day, his luck changed.
