Eros couldn't wait any longer for its master to come to let him know that the day had gone. So many times in his abode of misfortune, his ears imagined the daunting voice of Chaos allowing him to join with the celestial.

Dreams filled up his mind, while his eyes couldn't cease to stare in impatience at his promised land. He then remembered that he had brought back with him another orange to keep him company until then.

The fruit was enough for him to wander back in his memories to Gaia's abode.

His feet could still recall the feelings of walking again into the fresh grass of her infinite meadow, and the more steps he made, the closer he was drawn to her.

Eros could smell the fragrance of the lilies trailing behind her long, lush dress. He could see her like he could see the peak of a mountain from her land. She was there, elevated above it all, and he stretched out his fingers at her waist—the bark tree that glistened under the sunlight. And she turned around with her rich golden hair blowing over her face. Gaia smiled at him.

The laugh lines that faded into oblivion.

Eros curled on the floor with the orange held close to his heart to keep him warm. It was his most precious and only possession, the only one that could make him real. Gaia was a sweet fantasy because his world was shattered by the awkward shedding of tears of Nyx, wrecked by the loud head banging of Tartarus, and then, the worst, by Erebus chuckles.

In this instant, the sniggers of the latter were even more annoying than usual. Eros stood up and walked out to investigate the cause of this unbearable racket. As he came near the chamber of his sibling, he found Erebus slouched at his throne. He wasn't chortling with joy, but grieving with concern.

He shook his head and choked back his tears of shame as he vowed, "I will never bow myself before her." He then let forth a chuckle of madness. "Gaia is no wealthier than any of us!" Eros took shelter behind a pillar and listened covertly. "I will finish what Chaos has started."

Twelves in cosmic order. Twelves in entirety to twelves perfect droplets of blood from Erebus own wounded wrist that floated into the air then turned into deadly carbuncle stones. The crimson sparkle created a halo as bright as the sun above his head—a newly born gem that would render its master invincible from any sufferings—as it had combined the darkness with the light, as it had separated the males from the females.

The twelve's incanted sycophants all glowed in lust, flamed in power, and cursed red with hatred. Erebus forced all of them to fit into a disembowelled pomegranate, and then he buried the fruit in a winged jar of clay with these words:

Find your mistress, my minions.
Let her succumb to your twelve's taste.
And leave her to feel my bereavement for her.
Lead her to suffer from twelve months of starvation,
Feed on her flesh to grow, then come back to me as my twelves.

At last, Erebus sniggered loudly while the jar flew away to meet its final destination. Eros couldn't bear the thought of any harm to Gaia, and he covered his body in white feathers. Eros then became a stout-bodied, short-necked bird, a sacred dove that flew at the speed of light after the jar. It knocked its target once, but it only tilted without releasing its fruit. Eros hit it again and again until it opened and released its cursed heart on the ground of the Underworld, while Eros, the dove, followed the now barren jar onto the land of Gaia.
