(Naruto's PoV)

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. I like these mornings. It's sunny and not gloomy. Gloomy makes people sad. My Mommy and Daddy don't like sad people. I know it! Because I don't like sad people too.

I hopped off the bed and boiled my morning ramen. I love ramen but sometimes... It gets really boring the eating same thing everyday. When I find Mommy, she's gonna make lots and lots of yummy food just for me! I heard the whistling sound of the pot and turned it off.

After eating, I went to the Hokage Tower. Jiji can help me find my parents because Jiji knows everything. He's the Hokage! I opened the door to Jiji's office without knocking. There, I found Jiji writing some paperwork.

"Jiji!" I shouted. Jiji looked up and sighed. Man, Jiji looks older than usual. Like a hundred years older. Must be the wrinkles. "Naruto... How many have I told you to knock?" He looked at me tiredly. "Um, a lot?" I pouted.

I feel the years are taking a toll on me. I think the cause of those additional years is standing right from of me, grinning widely. I wish I could give the boy more but my status as the Hokage doesn't allow me to do much for him since the Hokage aren't allowed to interfere civilian affairs unless necessary. I have say that until Naruto is made into Genin, I could only do so much for him. Favoritism is something that I cannot show nor have. I guess I have to see what he wants.

"Is there anything I can help?" I asked. The boy nodded. "Yeah. I want to know where my Mommy and Daddy are! Do you know where?" This isn't much of a surprise. The boy had asked that question many times but all those times I managed to direct his attention to something else, avoiding his question. But today, he seems different. He seems determined, serious and... desperate. But I can't budge. He has to wait until he's made chuunin.

"I'm sorry, Naruto-kun but I can't help with that. I don't know where they are," a simple answer might not satisfy him but I could always hope. He looked annoyed. "But Jiji. Your the Hokage. You know everything and everyone! I mean, I'm born in Konoha. So, you must know where they are," he looked so determined. His answer surprised me. He did make a point but how does a five year old could think like that? He's just one surprise after another.

"Being the Hokage means I know everything. I'm the Professor that knows over 100 jutsu yet I'm still human. You know that too, don't you?" Naruto nodded but still held his gaze. "If you don't know, the I'm gonna find 'em myself, -ttebayo!" He really is their son.

I leaned back in my chair. 'Kushina, Minato. Why did you two have to be so stubborn and sacrifice everything for this village. It seems your son has inherited both of your stubbornness. Even in death, you two still cause me trouble' I thought while rubbing my forehead. I can't stop the boy from finding out his parentage but I can't tell him. Too many enemies out for revenge. It's better to have someone monitor the boy in the shadows.

"If you really want to, Naruto-kun but it won't be easy. I can't help if you find anything. I'm busy easy enough with these paperwork. Don't be disappointed if you can't find them," I said. I don't want Naruto to look so depressed about not knowing who they are. That kind of look doesn't fit his personality. Maybe he can forget about this goose chase after it's over. But then again, he never goes back on his word. That is his Will of Fire after all.

Naruto gave out a determined shout and ran out of the tower. The door slammed as the Hokage sat there in silence. Seconds passed. 'Boom!' The door opened again with a slam. Again, stood the little blond. "Jiji..." Hiruzen sighed. "Try at the library," he suggested. "Thanks! When I find Mommy, I'll make sure she makes awesome food for you," he said cheerfully. The aged man smoked his pipe exasperatedly. 'Oh, Naruto...' He thought.

After leaving the tower, Naruto had headed straight to the civilian library. The shinobi branch was off limits for him for obvious reasons. Naruto ran past the grouchy librarian and to the oldest and dusty branch of the library. He fingered the titles. "Uzumaki... Uzumaki... Uzu...." He mumbled. "Uzushiogakure?" He looked at the book. It was an old history book that obviously should have been in the shinobi branch. How it got there was a mystery to him but it didn't matter to a five year old.

Naruto shrugged and opened the book with curiosity. The book might show him something useful.
