Luna Studios studios is one of the biggest gaming studios right now. They're still rather new compared to the other big names in the industry, but almost every game they've produced has won awards or beaten record sales. They're already in the process of creating a movie based on their first big hit Call of the Zodiac. A lot of people in the gaming community wonder if the CEO sold his soul for the amount of success they've had in such a short amount of time. And here I am sitting next to him in his BMW, in front of the business he owns, and the taste of him still on my tongue.
"You own Luna Studios?" I ask, still not believing. He has to be joking. No way did I meet the CEO of the company that produced my favorite video game at a shitty club in Miami. I try to wrack my brain for the memory of our first encounter. He had given me his business card but I only focused on his name in big print. I try to remember if I can remember any other details about the card, but I was drunk at the time and my memory is jumbled.
As if he knew what I was thinking about he brought up the card. "Yeah, remember I gave you my business card? Well, you only looked at it for a moment but Luna Studios was on it." He chuckles.
I gulp. "I actually already sent an application here. As soon as I heard you guys were opening a Miami location, I thought it was destiny that I ended up in Miami. I know it would have been smarter to live in California for a job in this industry, but I really can't live there." I'm babbling as I find myself nervous for the first time in front of Antonio. "I received a rejection letter though." I say softly staring up at the building of my dream job.
"What position were you applying for?" He asks.
"Video game designer." I nearly whisper.
He looks very surprised. "You're a designer?"
I finally take my eyes off the building and look at him. "Yeah, well I graduated with a degree in it, but I don't have any working experience. I've been working on my own game whenever I have the time. "
He smiles at me. "Is it bad that makes me insanely more attracted to you right now? I almost want to take you in the back seat."
I shove his shoulder and crack a small smile, some tension leaves my body. "Shut up." Is all I tell him. I'm still absolutely floored right now. It is a little endearing that he finds that aspect about me attractive. With guys they're either super turned on about a girl that plays video games, or they're super sexist about it, sometimes they're both.
He leans across the car to give me a quick kiss and then opens his door. He gets out and before I can even pull the handle he's opening my door for me. "What a gentleman." I tell him teasingly and get out of the expensive car.
He grins down at me and his hand goes around my waist as he leads me towards an elevator. "This is perfect actually, I'm sure we still have your resume on file. I can take a look at it and see what happened on our end." He pulls a card from his suit pocket and swipes it under the buttons of the elevator and the doors close. The elevator ascends without him touching a button. His hand stays around my waist till we reach the top floor and as we walk down the hall up to a receptionist desk.
A man that barely looks twenty with curly blonde hair and kind green eyes sits behind the desk. His name plate says Henry Gunther. "Good afternoon, sir. I wasn't sure you were coming today." He says cheerfully, but his eyes widen as he finally notices me with his CEOs arm wrapped around me. I give him a nervous smile and he returns it with a kind one.
"You know I had to come check up on you Henry." Antonio teases. "Could you find a rejected application file for Hazel..."
"Edwards." I finish for him.
