THE KING
~ Third person's pov ~The palace of Lockwood was heaving with grief over the missing king. Guards and maids were being torn apart from left and right by the princess and they could only hope their new king would return soon.
The princess sits alone in her son's library, her husband had it built for him when he was a boy and this is the only close thing she can find to comfort her. Her heels tap against the wooden floor as she paces the room, expecting to hear word from the guards.
She bites on her thumb nail, awaiting for anyone's arrival- her son's arrival. She was maddened at the fact that her son had disappeared, but she was a mother to him so she couldn't help but feel concerned at where he possibly could be.
Knocking is heard on the door and she's stood still, her hands clutching her dress as she awaits the person on the other side of the door.
She swears if it's Ugene again she would definitely scream a lung.
The guard on the other side of the door gulps down his food from earlier, terrified of the princess's reaction of hearing the news of the king. The whole palace was on a mission to find him- they didn't have a choice.
He opens the door, and the princess is standing in the middle of the floor. He bows to her presence. "Your majesty."
"Have you gotten any news?" She asks, hopeful.
He hated the look on her face. She had hope that he would have news of the king being found, but he was here to only crush that small bit of hope.
"The only news I can give you right now is that we have no sight of the king. He has completely disappeared," he explains to her, watching her eyes fill with rage by the minute he stands near.
She swiftly turns around, grabbing a vase from a small table and throwing it across the room in a hurry. She screams at the top of her lungs and the guard can only stand soldier-like when all he wanted was to cover his ears in agony.
"You idiots! You fools! Once the king has been found, I will fire and have you all beheaded. How can none of you find your king?" She screams out at him, pointing her finger in his face once she comes close.
He's sweating, but he doesn't make a move to wipe it from his forehead. He nods his head. "I understand, your majesty. We are trying very hard to bring him home at once."
"Then why haven't you found him yet?!" She exclaims. "Have you checked the village?"
"Yes, your majesty. Even the city," he answers politely.
The princess holds her forehead, seeming to get dizzy from all the destruction she had caused. "He needs to marry soon and he is running off, not thinking of anyone."
The guard nods his head, not saying a word- afraid that she'd had his head if he spoke badly of the king.
"I didn't want it to come to this..." She trails, whispering to herself.
"What would you like me to do, your majesty?"
"Spread word of the king's disappearance, tell the village, tell the town, I want news of this so everyone can know," she exclaims.
"Are you sure of this, your majesty? Everyone will be concerned."
"Good, they'll help find him." With that she turns away from the guard and he exits the room expecting orders from the princess.
Ugene comes from the corner, walking alongside the guard, wondering what had happened in that room.
"Sir," Ugene starts. The guard stops, turns to Ugene with his eyebrows furrowed. Ugene coughs awkwardly at how everything was going down. "What does the princess want from you?"
"She has ordered me to spread the king's disappearance," The guard says to Ugene. He's confused about the order.
What would Jaxson say of this? He thought.
"Do as she orders." Ugene nods to the guard. No one knows of the king's appearance except for the guards. The villagers will only be looking for anyone that seemed like they were from royalty and Ugene hoped king Jaxson would hide his true self.
The guard takes his leave and gathers all his men together and announces what the princess has ordered of them. Word moves fast when the guards of Lockwood make sure they were heard and soon, the village knows of the king's disappearance.
Whispers and gasps were heard all around as news traveled fast amongst each other. The town was just the same and Sir Kingsley found the news troubling knowing the king whom never revealed himself could be walking amongst the crowd.
Ugene was on edge as the news was brought forth all while the princess stood over the balcony of the palace, watching chaos fall around her. She's determined to get back her son, but can only hope he'll come when the news spreads that she's after him.
"Ugene," the princess calls out for him.
He comes near, watching over the village as they walk in hurried steps to tell one another about the news. He gulps. "Yes, your majesty?"
"If I find out you have been betraying your very own princess about the king's whereabouts... I will have you killed. Do you understand?"
"Yes, of course, your majesty." He bows to her, escaping the room as his fear trickles down his throat. He passes maids on the way to his room, locking the door behind him once he enters and finally breathing out a large gulp of air.
The queen was onto him, he knew that, but he would never disappoint his king. A true friend, perhaps.
He was caught in the middle. He needed to speak with the king somehow but he didn't want to reveal his secret or identity.
He needed to think of something fast- if not, hell was to pay with both of them.
