                                                              "Wake up..."

... "Wake up!",

That's what Carrie Lee had heard every night from "Jeru" the rabbit. "It's time to go out" He said, "But just remember Lee, when we're out... don't fall asleep".

   Chapter 1

"Carrie!, Carrie!... Carrie Lee get up right now and get ready for school!". Carrie shot up from his bed from the sound of his mother yelling at him to get ready for school again. "Honestly!," She scolded again "I'm getting sick and tired of your shit kid!, you act like you get no sleep at all when I wake you up!," Then she had stormed out of his room, slamming the door.  Carrie layed back down in his bed, trying to find some relief from the shock of being woken up like that. Then he had turned his head to the left side of his bed to see the left side of his room. Then he had turned his head to the right side of his bed to see the right side of his room... Jeru was gone.  Carrie went downstairs into the small bathroom near the stairs. When he was inside, he looked at the large mirror, on top of the sink, in front of him. He stared at his face, not that his face had ever changed of course. He always had the same black hair, green eyes... very pale skin and large black circles underneath his eyes... and freckles all over his cheeks and nose. He wished that his freckles would look normal, they would if his face hadn't gotten so pale, but it wasn't always like that. When his mom took him to his "normal", doctor, he said that Carrie's face becoming white has something to do with "Lack of sleep". That also explained the black circles under his eyes, but his mother refused to belief that. She told the doctor that it was most likely not lack of sleep, and maybe just all the medicine that he was on. But Carrie didn't say anything during that time, he was always very quiet, and didn't want to interfere... but he believed the doctor. After he used the bathroom, he washed his hands, not looking at what he was doing, but instead looking around the bathroom to see if nothing in his face had change, because he was afraid that his skin color would worsen. His hands accidentally moved upwards to the running water from the faucet, spraying water all over the counter. He grabbed the towel from the rack behind him and started wiping the water off the counter... still looking around. Then he moved the towel too far towards the sink and knocked off the cup where he kept his toothbrush. He sighed, then put the towel back on the rack, then went back to pick up the cup. He put it back on the counter, then looked at the mirror one more time. Why does this always happen when I come in here?... He thought, then he left.
