World of Cotton Skies Ch. 7

 Chapter 7

Carrie opened his closet door, and walked inside with jeru on his back. Then he had gotten a sturdy black box that was underneath a pile of clothes, then shut the closet door. He turned on the small dangling light switch in the corner of the closet. Then he opened the box, showing something that looked like purple fog that was sparkling. Then Carrie had stuck his hand inside the fog, and closed his eyes for five seconds... then opened them.

He wasn't in his closet, he wasn't even sitting down anymore. He opened his eyes to see that he was standing up, in the middle of a road. He check his watch, it was one of' seven, then he looked behind him. "Jeru?", He asked "Don't worry!", Said Jeru behind him "I'm here! So... now we're in the Passec realm!". Carrie looked around him, He saw a sign that said "PASSEC REALM, COTTON SKIES" A few feet away from them. It was dark, and the road was foggy, which made the ground wet. The only source of light was on top of them, it was a small, white street light, other than that was just the fog. Carrie carefully put his bag on the ground and took out Jeru, then he started digging around in his backpack. "L-Lee wait!", shouted Jeru, but it was too late "Ah!", Shouted Carrie pulling his hand away from the bag. He quickly put his index finger in his mouth "Ow!", He Winged, "The knife wasn't covered?!". Jeru looked embarrassed, "Sorry Lee...", Then Jeru had went into the backpack and put the knife in the smaller zipper by itself. Then he took out a bandage, and gave it to Carrie "Here!" He said to him. Carrie took the bandage from Jeru, "This bandage isn't big enough... but it'll have to do", He said, taking the bandage out of the wrapper. While Carrie was putting it on, Jeru went back into the backpack to get what Carrie had meant to get, before he got cut. Jeru had pulled out the flashlight, and put it on the ground "Hey Jeru" Said Carrie "Can you get out the jacket to? Its freezing out here.". Jeru took out a navy blue sweater, and held it up so it wouldn't get wet on the floor. Then Carrie put on the sweater and took the flashlight. He turned it on, then picked up his backpack from the ground, "Jeru?", He asked the rabbit. "I can walk Lee!", Jeru said happily, so they began walking forward.

After walking for a little while, Jeru looked up at Carrie and smiled. "Pop quiz!", He said to him, "You bet Jeru! Test me!", Replied Carrie. "Alright!" Said Jeru "This time, I'm going to test you about what you know so far about the whole Passec Realm!"

"Ok... go!"

"Whats money here?"

"Buttons!"

"How can humans get here?"

"With the portal!"

"And..."

"And... it can only work if you have an Enjeru, like me!"

"And what's a Guardian Enjeru?"

"A uh, Guardian Angel!"

"Good! And now about the creation... How is all this made?"

"It's supposed to be linked to my mind I think..."

"Yes and..."

"And everything I see in the real world... is represented here!"

"Great give me examples!"

"Uh... Toby, Yuki and the Alley... and Jeremiah!"

"Thank you!"

P.R FACT 1: Angels (Enjerus)

Many other children have Angels and their own specific realms that have different names, this specific realm is "Cotton Skies".

Carrie looked around, how long had they been talking? Then Carrie saw something glowing in the distance, the bus stop! Carrie gasped "Jeru look!" He said "C'mon!", Jeru and Carrie started sprinting Towards the sign in front of them. When they got there Carrie looked at the sign, It had looked like they were in the same area before, like when they first got here. But instead of the sign saying "PASSEC" it said "Bus stop". The lamp and sign were on a small pad made of cement, that had a few steps on the bottom. There couldn't be anyone on the road if the bus was coming.

Carrie and Jeru had waited for five minutes, Carrie had passed the time by messing with the flashlight, taking the batteries in and out. Jeru had been sleeping on Carrie's lap, Carrie was tired to... but he knew that he couldn't fall asleep. Carrie looked at Jeru, "I can't..." He whispered to himself "I can't sleep, because if I do... whatever area I'm in... I'll wake up in the real world in the place it represents... and I cannot risk that...". Just then he heard something, like wheels.

The bus.

  Carrie had quickly put the flashlight in his backpack, since the light coming from the bus was enough to light up the entire area. "Jeru, Jeru wake up.", Said Carrie, "The bus is here!", Jeru rubbed his eyes with his tiny rabbit paw, then looked up at Carrie "Oh good!", He said "You're still here!", Then Carrie stood up, and the bus stopped right in front of them.

The doors opened up to show a tiny green dragon sitting in a driver's seat. He wore a black vest and tie, with a name tag on the right side of his chest that read "Toby .T".

"Toby Transportation! At your service!", The dragon said, Then he had stopped and looked at Carrie and Jeru. "Oh, Hey there guys!" He said "Where to, tonight?", "Um, Lacey", Said Carrie as he stepped onto the bus. "Alright", Said Toby "That'll be six buttons!". Carrie took off his backpack and unzipped the biggest compartment. He started digging around until he pulled out a handful of buttons. Then he had put nine back and gave Toby six. "Thank you Lee! Thank you Jeru! Enjoy the ride!", Said Toby.

P.R Fact 2: Toby

In this Passec Realm, Toby is in charge of most transportation vehicles.

Then Carrie and Jeru started walking towards the back of the bus, it was nice back there. There wasn't any normal seats, they were yellow with fancy red designs on them. And there were even fold out tables, and stringed light bulbs on the top of the bus, and like always, nobody else was there. They both sat down in the middle of the bus, then it started moving. Carrie got to sit next to the window, and Jeru was next to him. Then Carrie had pulled out one of the tables in front of his and put his backpack on top of it. He check his watch, it was one forty five, then he had opened his backpack, took out the rest of his buttons, and spilled them onto the table. He started counting the remaining buttons that he had left... seventeen.

They had been driving for five minutes, Carrie had sorted all of the buttons by color, then size. After he put them all back, he looked out the window. He had barely noticed the sky. The clouds... of cotton. That's what Carrie had used to call them, because they had reminded him of the painting, "Starry night". It was a painting of clouds that had looked flurry in a way, like cotton. Carrie had been staring at the dark clouds until they had reached the end of the ride.

"Lacey!", Called out Toby when he had stopped the bus. Carrie had woken up Jeru by shaking him on the shoulder until his eyes had opened. Then he had pushed the table in front of him back, and picked up his backpack from the ground. While Carrie was checking his backpack to see if all of his pockets were zipped, Jeru had already gotten up from his seat. When Carrie put his backpack on, the two started walking towards the front of the bus, Carrie had made sure to stop and thank Toby before he had gotten off though.
