World of Cotton Skies Ch.5

  Chapter 5                               Carrie had arrived home at four o' clock. He had checked his watch before walking into his house. When he got inside he realized that his mom was still asleep, because she was usually downstairs when she was awake.

Carrie went into the kitchen, then opened his refrigerator to find something to eat. Milk, ground beef, eggs, cheese Thought Carrie as he looked through the fridge. He finally just decided to eat an apple that he found on the counter. When he finished, he looked back at the time on his watch, it was already four ten. Carrie started thinking about what would happen tonight, like when he was at school. He did a small sigh, "I hope this goes as planned...", He said to himself. Then he went upstairs to his bedroom, passing his mom's (Who was still asleep). Then shut the door, Jeru was on Carrie's bed, who was also asleep. But he woke up right when Carrie had shut the door to his room. Then he dropped of his backpack by the front of the room, and went to pick up his dirty green pajamas that he left on the floor from this morning. Then he went into the small laundry room, near his bedroom to throw his pajamas in the wash. When he started up the washer, he looked down to see Jeru right next to his foot, he was staring at Carrie. "What happened Jeru?", Carrie asked, the dog just turned around and went towards Carrie's room. Carrie had followed him inside, once he was in, Jeru went over to the walk-in closet that Carrie had. Jeru started scratching the door to the large closet "No", Said Carrie "We're only supposed to go at night, remember?". Jeru had made a bored expression with his eyes, then just stopped scratching the door. Jeru had jumped onto Carrie's bed and, he looked like he was waiting for Carrie to do something. But Carrie just scooted Jeru over and layed on the bed. Jeru stared at him confused, "Well we're going out tonight... aren't we?, I'm just going to take a nap so I won't be so tired". Then Carrie had put one of his pillows next to him, then patted it, as a signal for Jeru to sleep on it. Jeru went onto the pillow, then curled up into a "C" shape. Carrie had stared at him for a few seconds Tonight's the night! He thought then went to sleep.  When Carrie woke up, it was to his mom yelling for him, from downstairs. He had woke up from a start agian, like this morning. When he got out of bed, he barely realised that he was still in his school clothes. Then he tried to get to the light switch near his door, because it was so dark in his room. When he flipped it on, he immediately opened the door "Y-Yeah, Mom!?" He yelled downstairs. "Come on Carrie!" She yelled back upstairs "Dinner's been ready!". Carrie checked his watch, it was already eight o' clock. Oh,man! He thought "C'mon Jeru!", He said to the dog who was still sleeping on the pillow. Jeru quickly shot up from Carrie's bed, and followed him downstairs.  Chicken, and rice... that's what was for dinner. After Carrie had eaten a few spoonfuls of rice, he stared up at his mom. "Uhh... mom?" He asked, "Yeah, Carrie..." She said looking at him. "Can a friend come over tomorrow?" He asked her, he knew that she would say yes. The first question that might have popped into her head at the time might have been You have friends?, or something like that. "Well, yeah of course... as long as your rooms clean", She said. Then she stood up to give a piece of chicken to Jeru in his food bowl. "G-great!", Said Carrie "Can he stay the night?". "Um, sure... I guess I can get a pizza..." She said, Carrie got up from his seat then hugged his mom. "Thanks so much Mom!" He said, then he went back to the table and quickly took his plate to the sink. Then he ran out of the kitchen "Thanks Mom! Goodnight!" He said to her, "C'mon Jeru!" He said to the dog who had just finished eating.
