Chapter 4
Carrie walked through four rows of seats on the bus before finding a two seater with one girl sitting on it. "Uh" He asked getting the girls attention "Can I sit here?". The girl looked at him with an annoyed face, then she rolled her eyes "Yeah, sure..." She said. Then she stood up and gestured him to sit on the window seat so she could get off the bus first, and talk to her friends on the seat across from her. Once Carrie sat down, the bus started, and all of the kids had started chatting away. School wasn't that far... but it was a ten minute drive. It had already been a minute before the bus went deeper into town, Where Carrie lived... it was a little barren. So driving around town to school was pretty cool for him. Mostly because... it helped him think... about the night. The bus passed by the Restaurant, "Belle's", first in town square. It served things like mostly pizza or spaghetti, but the thing that Carrie mostly liked about it was the area "near", the restaurant... well more like right next to it. There was a large alley way beside the place, and it had things like boxes and crates in it. There was also old lights dangling on the top of the alley. The lights were very old and didn't ever light up, and most of them were broken, or shattered. The next place they drove by, was Carrie's favorite place to go. It was the ice cream/candy shop "Lacey's". The store was a little old... and that's what made it special. Carrie and his mom would go there whenever they wanted to have something sweet. And it was decorated inside to look like the north pole, with igloos, and snowflakes. And right next to the store was the lake. There were always people riding their boats out there. But there was always one boat on the side of the lake, that had never been ridden. It was white, with blue stripes, and smaller red stripes on the sides. After driving for a little while longer they drove past the convenience store called "Eight arms",Their mascot was a smiling octopus, and their motto was "Absolutely, Positively, Definitely, Everything, garantie". Carrie just thought that mean that they had lots of items... Then there was the old "body shop" or something like that. Carrie didn't know what that meant, but he knew that it had something to do with car repair. and right next to that was the vacant store that was boarded up and apparently for lease. Carrie heard that so far a magic shop, weapon store, and martial arts program were all trying to rent it out. But the owners still haven't decided, and they probably won't for a while. After driving for a few more minutes, the bus finally pulled up into the front of the school. Carrie was still fifteen minutes early to school, so he just sat by near the lunch tables outside and drew in his sketchbook, that he loved to bring to school. When the bell for first period rang, Carrie picked up his things and slowly walked to class. He didn't have to hurry, because his teacher for first period was always a few minutes late. While he was walking, he kept his sketchbook in his arms... it was open to one page. Carrie took the book out from under his arm and stared at the picture that he just drew. A rush of excitement had went threw him as he looked at it. He had drawn a picture of a boy that looked like he was dressed for a long winter. He had long golden yellow hair, and blue eyes, and a fox tail and backpack. "I can't wait till' you come Jeremiah..." He said to ars, he also had things that looked like lightning bolts around him. Carrie smiled as he put the sketchbook into his black himself, then he began running to class laughing. The rest of the day at school was extremely boring. Until his last period in math. "Alright!" Said his math teacher, Mr. Kinene, "Here are all of your progress reports for the semester!". Then he started passing them out to the class, and eventually had reached the back of the room where Carrie sat. Mr. Kinene had passed out his upside down, like the rest of the classes were. When he walked away to pass out more Carrie took the paper and flipped it over:
