Jason couldn't wait to marry Nandi. He knew that she was the love of his life the moment he saw her at campus 4 years ago.

She was beautiful.

Wearing a very colourful zulu skirt and beads with a white long sleeve t-shirt.

He still remembered that day.

Her voice was very angelic in his ears.He sometimes wondered if he was the only one who thought her voice was beautiful.

He loved everything about Nandipha.

He remembered the day Nandi told her she was from royalty.

Well she did look like a princess
He thought

Nandi was very sweet.Jason always wondered why his mom never liked her.

But he didn't care.He knew he loved her and wanted to marry her. That is what matters to him. Nandi's happiness.

And now he just had to convince his dad to go with him to Kwazulu Natal. Jason wanted to pay ilobola for Nandi. He also knew that he had to pay damages for Nandi.

But he would do it.He would do anything for Nandi as long as she was happy.

"Heyy mom" Jason said to him mom placing a kiss on her cheek.

Jason loved him mom dearly she was the second best woman in his life.
The fist being Nandi of course.
"Ohh Jason. How are you son?" His mom asked.

"Im fine mom never been better" Jason replied cheerfully

" You know ever since you started dating that black girl you have been really distant. You dont visit anymore" his mom stated.

" Her name is Nandi mom." Jason said getting irritated that his mom was talking about his Nandi that way.

"And we are getting married" he said quietly like he was scared what his mom would say,and honestly he was.

He knew her mom never liked Nandi.

That is an understatement

Her mom just stared and him and started laughing like Jason said the funniest joke ever.

"What are you talking about Jason?" She asked chuckling lightly.

" Mom, I'm marrying Nandi. I proposed to her a few weeks back." He replied not making eye contact. His mom stopped laughing immediately.

"Jason you don't know what you're doing. That girl is not the right woman for you. She ..."
Before she could finish her sentence her husband Michael walked in.

"Ahh son how have you been?" His father said looking around for a particular person "Where's Nandi?" He asked.

" I'm fine dad , Nandi went to visit her family in Natal." Jason replied.

"Jason you can't marry that girl" his mother continued.

" What are you talking about Margaret?" Jason's father asked looking confused.

" I proposed to Nandi a few weeks back and we're getting married. If you have a probl..." Be fore he could finish his father butted in.

" It's about time son. You've been together for 4 years now. And that girl has respect for our family I don't see the problem in you marrying her" his father said proudly.

"What?! You can't be serious Michael" his wife said looking at him wide eyed.

" Mom , you are the one who can't be serious. I love Nandi and she loves me. What is it that's so hard for you to understand?" Jason shouted losing his patience.

" Jason that is no way to speak to your mother" Margaret said not believe what she just heard.

" Enough!" His father said .

" If Jason loves this girl and wants to marry her then he will. Jason is old enough to make his own decisions." He said added.

"But Michael that girl is .." her wife tried to argue.

" What, black?" Jason stated losing his cool.

" I said enough both of you" his father glared at them.

" I can't believe this ." Margaret said walking away.

" I'm proud of you son. And don't worry about your mother she'll come around." His father tried reassuring him.

"So when is the marriage?" He asked..

" Well that's the thing dad. Nandi went to visit so she could tell her parents that we are on our way there to pay for the bride price." Jason sqid running his hand through his hair.Something he does when nervous.

" I don't think your mom would agree to that" his father said.

" Well only men are needed when discussing ilobola dad. So mom doesn't have to do anything. We could just leave her at the hotel when we go with uncle Druv." Jason said to his dad.

" When should we leave then?"

" We will leave in a week dad" Jason replied.

Then the men sat discussing what was supposed to be done before their trip to Kwazulu Natal.
