...

Jason's mom has given him the silent treatment since yesterday.

She refused to even look at him.

He didn't understand what was going on with her.
Sure he was marrying someone his mother dislike well more like despised but couldn't she atleast be happy that his son has found the love of his life and is happy.

Nandi didn't even do anything to her. She was respectful. She was sweet and not to mention the most beautiful women he's seen.

Jason couldn't take it anymore.
He wanted to know why his mom didn't like Nandi.

Jason knocked on his mother's bedroom door.

He heard a faint come in and made his way inside.

"Mom we need to talk"he said.

Mrs Smith was sitting on her bed and holding her son's baby album in her hands.

Her eyes were bloodshot like she had been crying.

As she saw her son standing near the bed she felt her heart squeeze tightly.

No one understood how she felt.

She felt like she was losing her son.

Ever since he met Nandi he doesn't spend time with her or cook with her anymore. To her it was painful really.

Her son used to check on jer everyday. But now he barely calls.

Last time he even forgot her anniversary. Jason never forgot his parents anniversary.

She was losing her baby. And she hated it. She hated the women who caused this. And she will stop this marriage at all cost.

"Mom are you listening?" Jason asked.

" Yes Jason I'm listening, what do you want to talk about" she replied dryly.

"Mom I just don't understand what's wrong with you. Why are you so against me getting married?" Jason asked his mom.

"Im not against you and getting married. I just want you to be sure about your decision."she tried coming up with an excuse.

" Mom I've dated Nandi since university. I know what I want. I love her. Ok?" Jason said.

"Jason I'm a mother..."

"Here we go again" Jason said quietly.

" ...I can feel when something isn't right and this marriage isn't good for you. She's not good for you" Mrs Smith said.

" I can't do this ... I'm leaving I'll see you tomorrow" After saying that Jason walked out.

His mom called out to him but he didn't even turn.

Why are mom's so hard to please. Jason thought

.....

Jason had just arrived at his apartment.

He felt really drained after all the drama that happened.

He needed to rest but he wanted to talk to Nandi first.

So he took his laptop and skyped her.

It rang for a full minute before she answered.

"Heyy baby how are you ?"Jason cooed.

"I'm good bear I just meet you alot and I'm tired." Nandi beamed.

As Jason looked at her he saw how tired she seemed. She had dark bags under her eyes and she looked like her eyes have lost their spark. A very usual sight to him.

"So did you tell your dad about the engagement?" He asked.

"Uhh yeah about that uhm... Could you wait a few days before coming here?" Nandi said nervously biting her nails.

"Ohh I'm guessing it didn't go so well" Jason said more to himself.

"Bear I'm trying okay my dad is just hard to convince but I'll try my best ok. Trust me please." Nandi said.

" I do trust you baby I just had a long day and I need to sleep. Tell me when everything cools down ok?"

"I will bear, I love you." Nandi said to him.

" I love you too baby, goodnight" Jason replied.

"Goodnight" after saying that they both went to bed with alot going on in their minds.
....

Jason had alot in his mind. He had woken up an hour ago but he didn't feel like getting up.

How could a marriage proposal to Nandi cause such a big  conflict? He thought.

He really wished this could be easier.

After a few minutes of staring into space, Jason got up and headed to the shower to prepare for work.

Work was always easy for Jason. He loved work but today it somehow got hard.

He couldn't focus or hear anything that Mr Ashanti was saying.

His mind kept drifting to his mom or his marriage or Nandi.

"Mr Smith!?" Mr Ashanti yelled.

Jason jumped a little, startled by the noise.

" Mr Ashanti uh... I'm sorry I'm just uhh" He tried forming a sentence. Which seemed harder.

"Look Mr Smith I believe we made a mistake coming here please call us when you're not so distracted.

Mr Ashanti said before getting up and taking his things and leaving.

Fuck me
