"Well hello, my best friend who so happens to be the coolest racing driver in the world..." You smiled as you opened the door to find Lando standing on the other side, a soft blush on his cheeks at your compliment "What brings you here?"

"I told you I was coming over..." He mumbled confused after only texting you 15 minutes before telling you he was on his way "We always spend the night before we go away for summer break together cause you missed the plane that one tim-" Cutting him off, you wrapped your arms around him in a friendly hug. The feeling that makes his heart skip a beat every time. "I'm being rhetorical Lando..." You giggled, letting him go to watch his face burn red with embarrassment "After 10 years of friendship you still don't know me... I'm disappointed in you!" "Oh shush!" Lando chuckled, brushing past you softly to let himself inside your flat "I know you better than you know yourself!"

"That is not true!" You gasped, trying to stick up for yourself but deep down knowing that he was 100% right. He knew everything about you... your deepest secrets, your favorite colors & songs, how you take your coffee, the list goes on and on. It was one of the many things that you loved about him... much more than a friend should. "Oh, I don't do I..." He smirked, glancing over to your suitcase on the floor "I know you enough to know that you have packed more than 14 outfits... that you packed a pair of shoes to go with every one of them because you can't have an unmatching 'fit'..."

"Oh c'mon on Lando!" You laughed shaking your head "Everyone knows that... I think even my postman would guess it!" Walking closer to you, he smirked "Okay then, How about that you have downloaded every episode of friends for a 2-hour plane ride to distract you from the turbulence... How you've snuck a packet of Haribo tangfastics in your bag because they don't have them in the snack trolley... How you pretend to have all the alcoholic drinks given to you because you don't want to seem rude turning them down despite you not being a drinker..."

"Lando..." You stuttered as he stopped right in front of you, making your skin break out in Goosebumps. "How you have tried to squeeze out all of your Olaplex shampoo in a travel-size bottle because you can't have frizzy hair on holiday..."

"You know what shampoo I use?" You stammered as he brushed a fallen curl out of your eyes "I know everything about you (y/n)..." As his breath fanned over your face you took a deep breath, hoping and praying that he would finally get the feeling that you were so afraid to admit. But like always your prayers weren't answered he cleared his throat, taking a step away as he chuckled lightly "Anyway what are we watching tonight?" Looking over to the already set up couch, with the snacks filling the table opposite it "Please don't say bridesmaids, I think we've seen that enough now.."

Still overwhelmed with everything that had just happened, you just stared straight on. Your heart pulsing as you wished that he had finally done it, what you have always wanted him to do! But you knew deep down that he never felt same... so what did you expect.

"(y/n)? You okay Hun?" Lando asked voice full of concern as he tried to break you from your trance. You wanted to scream and shout. Tell him how much you loved him. How much you cared and admired him. Wanting nothing more than to spend the rest of your life with him being more than just friends. But you couldn't... your friendship meant too much to break.

So instead you took a deep breath, faking a smile as you shook your head "Oh I'm fine... just in my own head again." He knew you were lying, he had known you too long to notice the little things you do when your mind drifts off "Okay..." He replied cautiously, not wanting to push you too much "Come over here then... It's been too long since we've relaxed and had a movie night together! I'm having withdrawal symptoms" Throwing himself down on the sofa, patting the seat next to him. You knew you shouldn't of done it with your feelings being too overwhelmed, but you took the seat next to him. Body flinching as he put his arm around you, something that was natural for the two of you. You prayed he didn't feel it... but he did "Are you sure you are okay (y/n)?" He sweetly asked "You seem like something is bothering you?"
