Harry will grow up in a safe environment, raised by Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
Sirius and Harry will assume fake identities—temporarily, of course. I personally never liked when fics changed Harry's name permanently, I mean, how can it be Harry Potter, if he's not even named Harry anymore?
Harry will be an Animagus, although he won't complete the steps. I thought it'd be cool if, since James was an Animagus before he had a son, his son was born a natural one.
Sirius and Remus' relationship won't be immediate, it'll be realistically problematic in the beginning. They did, after all, go through a traumatic experience. With Sirius believed to be the traitor as well as a murderer, Remus still loving him even when he wasn't aware of Sirius' innocence; They'll spend most scenes together, working on what they no longer have.
Harry will be true to his Marauder heritage, helping Fred and George Weasley with a few of their pranks. He'll be far more mischievous and less mature in this fic as he didn't grow up always wondering when his next meal was.
Ron won't be so quick to turn on Harry, he'll still be a jealous prat, but he will also be the loyal Gryffindor he was supposed to be. Our courageous cinnamon roll.
Harry forms a small crush on Fred Weasley, whether that goes anywhere is entirely up to how the story plays out. I always thought it was adorable how the twins look out for Harry, and I've read a few fics where one or both twins like Harry. Those were cute, but if I do decide to do Harry with Fred or even both twins—it will not be twincest. That's just disgusting.
Harry will also still have his Triwizard Tournament to simp over Cedric Diggory like the gay/bi disaster he is.
Harry will still be good at Defense Against the Dark Arts, but he won't look for a career following that subject. In fact, he'll be drawn to the wizarding creatures after his experience with Buckbeak. He'll be especially eager to learn about dragons during the Triwizard Tournament.
He'll be better in his classes, with Moony as a role model—what did you expect? Sirius, while more mature than he was in the original, will still be a mischievous troublesome influence. Always dragging Harry or Remus into wild situations, not dangerous! Just a little out there. He'll be far more cautious when serious situations come about, never too impulsive after the ordeal with Peter.
Remus still becomes the Defense professor, though he doesn't forget the potion this time around, having Sirius and Harry helping him remember certainly makes a difference.
Snape still made the vow to protect Harry, though in this fic, he'll be nicer—as nice as he can be. Cause let's face it, he was made unnecessarily mean in the series. Even when he could very clearly differentiate between Harry and James.
Harry and Snape will have a moment when Harry finds out he's the Half-blood Prince. Harry discovers the endless research Snape's done—trying to find a way to get rid of the dark mark.
