I smile shyly as I make my way over to the Slytherin table. They all cheer and pat my back as I sit next to a girl my age.

"Welcome to Slytherin!" she smiles, a gleam in her eye that gives me the vibe she knows something I don't.

"We all hoped you would come to our house!" a girl with long black hair smiles.

Rose gives me a sad glance from the Gryffindor table. I smile at her reassuringly and begin to have polite conversation with Klay Longbottom who, despite his father's ranking in Gryfindor, was placed into Slytherin.

"Why is it so many people say its bad to be in Slytherin?" I ask Klay.

Klay's lips go crooked and turn into a purse as he contemplates my question, "Well, see, you've heard of Harry Potter, right?"

My eyebrows knit together, questioning how relative his question is, "Yes?"

"My dad talks about this all the time. He explained how Harry Potter and him defeated a very powerful wizard named..." Klay takes a look to the left and then right, "Voldemort."

"Was he evil?"

Klay makes a pfff sound and then leans back in, his black hair hiding his blue eyes, "You really don't know, do you?"

"No."

"Well, this Voldemort guy was bad news. While Voldemort was taking over Hogwarts and the wizarding world, Harry Potter was finding out how to destroy his horcruxes which are individual pieces of Voldemort's soul dispersed into personal items. He was eventually defeated, but not only were most of his followers in Slytherin, but he was too. That's why everyone hates Slytherin," Klay leans back on his bench, doing a fake cheer when Mikaela Lovegood was added to Hufflepuff.

Taking it in, I sigh, "Why do they even still have the house if the history has been so bad?"

"Because a famous man named Severus Snape double crossed Voldemort. He was in Slytherin and even today, there stands a statue of him with a snake's head in his hands," Klay stares at Professor Longbottom as he speaks.

My eyes remain on him as he leans back in his chair, "Whoa, Klay. You look a whole like Destiny," Gerald speculates.

"Cool." Klay brushes of the Gryffindor nerd and just rests his head on his hand.

I smile at the red head, "I guess we do kind of look alike."

Gerald smiles at me, turning back to his table. I turn to Klay and he only sniggers, "Those nerds aren't worth it."

I exasperatedly laugh, "So you're all high and mighty?"

"Actually I am. I am a pure blood. That Gerald is a no good mud blood. He doesn't deserve to be in this school, I tell you that," Klay snickers.

"What makes mud bloods so unholy?"

Klay lifts an eyebrow, "Wizards or witches born of Muggle parents. That's a Mudblood. It's rumored that they steal their powers from other wizards."

"Well that's unfair. They were born a Mudblood. They can't help it," I defend him.

Klay leans back, resting his head in his interlaced fingers, "You say that, but do you really mean it? I know you don't give a crap about Gerald. Nerdy bloodmud, that one there."

"Klay, cut him some slack. What would your father say if he heard your words?" I slouch on my bench.

Klay smirks, "He'd probably kill me and then id cuss him out. It's how it usually goes."

"Why?"

"When you've got a high and mighty dad, you're expected to be all high and mighty, too," Klay sighs.

I furrow my brows, "I don't think I understand that..."

"Of course you wouldn't. It doesn't matter anyways," Klay turns his attention back to the selection.
