I let out a small gasp as his serrated blades collided with my new, unscathed blade. He landed on his feet with a soft thud. He growled and grunted as he pushed his weight into his swords. I growled quietly, fighting to stand my ground against him. 'Damn this pig-man! I haven't regained my strength yet!'

"Inosuke! Quit it! They hasn't got all their strength back yet!" Tanjiro yelled, making his way over to us. Tengen stopped him, shaking his head.

"Let them handle it."

I shifted my weight to my back foot, then spun my front foot back, while simultaneously swinging my sword up, out, then down, breaking from "Inosuke's" grasp. I stared into the boar's eyes, a scowl grew across my face under my mask. He rushed forward again, yelling a fierce battle cry. I mimicked him, letting out my own cry as I ran to meet him.

I threw myself to the ground at the last minute, sliding through his legs and grabbing hold of them. He fell, dropping his swords. I was about to stand up and pin him down, when I was kicked back down. He laid on his back, staring at me with what I could assume was fury, maybe surprise. I pounced on him, sitting on his torso as I battered his face with my fists.

"Okay! Oughf- Alright! Get offa me!" He yelled, bringing his arms up to defend himself. I stopped attempting to split his head like a watermelon at his surrender. I got off of him, holding out a hand to help him up.

(Un)Surprisingly, he ignored my offer and jumped right up. He pointed at me. "You! I can't believe you just managed to take Inosuke down! Lord Inosuke will fight you every chance he gets until he wins!"

"Yeah, okay." I rolled my eyes, picking up and sheathing my sword.

"Well, now that that's over, we should start moving!" Tanjiro beamed, making his way to the gate. "Come on you three!"

The three remaining young slayers scrambled after the cheerful maroon haired boy with a box on his back.

***************

"Maybe we should stop here and rest." Tanjiro announced, slowing to a stop underneath a large tree. The midday sun was heavy on our backs and everyone was faltering. We all agreed and plopped down, resting our backs against the tree. Tanjiro sat on my left, Zenistu sat on the other side of Tanjiro, while Inosuke sat on my right.

I glanced over at the boar man from the corner of my eye. He sat with his legs splayed out and was picking at the grass between them. The other two sat criss cross, staring up at the leaves and bits of sky.

"Is anyone hungry?" Tanjiro asked, opening the bag he had been carrying. He pulled out a few boxes of rice balls. He's such a mom. I snickered quietly at the thought of Tanjiro being a tired mother watching his(her?) three goblin children.

"WHAT?!" Inosuke screamed. I flinched away from him. Why so loud? "YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU HAD FOOD THIS WHOLE TIME?! I'VE BEEN STARVING, HANTIRO!" He reached over me to grab a box, hitting me in the nose with his arm in the process.

"Ow."

"Inosuke! Calm down!" Tanjiro pulled his boxes away, out of the grasp of the pig. "Don't you think you should share?"

"NO WAY! LORD INOSUKE DOESN'T SHARE! NOW GIVE ME THE FOOD." He snarled, stretching to snatch a box. He grabbed it and sat back down in his spot.

I turned from him, irritated and somewhat disgusted. Tanjiro gave me two rice balls, smiling sheepishly. "I'm really sorry for Inosuke's actions."

I took them, pulling my fox head off with my other hand. I placed it between me and Inosuke. "No, it's fine. Thank you for the food, Tanjiro." I assured him with a smile on my face. I bit into the delicious snack. "Mmm... Did you make these?"

He swallowed before answering. "Actually, yeah, I did. Are they good?"

"They're amazing. When did you have the time to-" I stopped as I heard obnoxious smacking behind me. I whipped around, ready to scold Inosuke for eating so loud when I was stopped in my tracks.

The head of the boar-man sat in the grass between us, on top of my fox head. Its slot on Inosuke's broad shoulders was replaced with a beautiful face covered in rice. He had black hair that flowed to his shoulders, the ends fading into a blue color. Striking green eyes met mine as he finished off his fourth rice ball. The two of us stared at each other for what seemed like eternity. Eventually, his brow furrowed. "What?" He asked. "Do you wanna fight or something?!"

I snapped out of it, suppressing a gasp. "I just might if you keep eating so loud!" I told him, crinkling my nose. I turned my head away from the gorgeous man and back to Tanjiro. He must've seen the look on my face because he was giggling quietly. No, snickering was more like it. "Hey, shut up!" I whisper yelled at him, shoving him playfully.

Once we were all done, we got back up and took off down the road again. I couldn't help but glance at Inosuke from time to time. How on Earth could such a crude and brute person have such a beautiful face?
