Chapter 2

That night, Jungwon was laying in his bed at home scrolling through Tik-Tok, a cigarette pack sitting on his bedside table. Jungwon looked at it, he was trying his best to quit but it was so tempting. He refused and faced the other way. He looked at the time on his phone, 2:21am. It was late but he never slept. Jungwon's parents wouldn't be home for another 4 months as they had left for a business trip. He was 17 and could take care of himself while they were gone, so it never bothered him. He got up from his bed, avoiding the cigarette pack and walked to the kitchen. He left his phone on the kitchen counter while he made food. Then, his phone buzzed just as he got out the ingredients. He picked up his phone, who would be texting him this late at night. He checked the number; he didn't recognize it. He unlocked his phone to see the message and immediately realized who it was.

'heyyyyyyy remember mee'

'Ni-ki?'

'yup can u ehlp mee'

'With what, It's late.'

'i need u to pick me up'

Jungwon was confused by the sudden request. Where was he and why couldn't he call a taxi or something.

'What? Just call a taxi.'

'no moneyy'

'I hardly fucking know you, why can't you ask someone else?'

'pls'

Jungwon sighed, this kid expected a lot from a stranger. He accepted it, he had nothing else to do so may as well.

'Where are you?'

'***** stret i think'

'I'm coming'

Jungwon shoved his phone in his pocket and grabbed his keys. He put on his shoes and got in his car. He angrily drove to the street where Ni-ki apparently was. He got there fast, there was no traffic as it was so late. He got there and found Ni-ki sitting with a bunch of his friends, all of them yelling at each other. Ni-ki looked over and saw Jungwon and started running to his car. He looked back while running and yelled at his friends.

"FUCK YOU!"

Jungwon was shocked by the loud yelling at 2am. Ni-ki hopped in the front seat and told Jungwon to drive quickly. Ni-ki looked back at his friends who were yelling and chasing the car, not catching up at all. He laughed and hiccupped. Jungwon looked at him, with a death stare.

"You text me at 2am to come get you? I HARDLY KNOW YOU!" Jungwon's outburst scared Ni-ki, who was acting weird and couldn't stop smiling and laughing. After Ni-ki's shock he burst out laughing, which angered Jungwon. Jungwon quickly realized why Ni-ki was acting like this. He sighed. "Your fucking high. Unbelievable." Jungwon wasn't mad just confused. Why was he the first-person Ni-ki texted for a ride? Ni-ki finally spoke through all the laughing.

"There is a fucking dinosaur in the sky." He laughed again. Jungwon looked at him, concerned. How high was he? He wasn't much younger than Jungwon, but it was weird seeing someone so young have such a horrible habit. Ni-ki was shivering and Jungwon was quick to notice and threw a jacket at him, Ni-ki laughed again for no reason and put it on. "What's your address so I can get you home?" Ni-ki's emotion suddenly changed from happy to panic. He looked at Jungwon, his eyes wide open.

"NO! PLEASE DON'T TAKE ME HOME!" Ni-ki put his hands together, begging Jungwon. Jungwon was shocked, where was Ni-ki meant to go. Even though Ni-ki was high, he seemed to switch up when he heard about his home. Jungwon looked at him with concern and Ni-ki was desperate. "Where am I meant to take you then?" Ni-ki sighed with relief and quickly went back to his normal, high self. "Dunno, anywhere. I can sleep on the side of the road if you give me a blanket?" Jungwon was surprised by the offer, he really would sleep anywhere but home. Jungwon knew it wasn't safe to leave him anywhere alone in his state. He sighed and offered Ni-ki an option which he didn't 100% want.
