Chapter 6

(tw: abuse, a LOT of swearing)

The next morning, Jungwon woke up first again. He looked at Ni-ki who was sound asleep on his chest. "Cute..." He said, as he carefully grabbed his phone and scrolled through it while he waited for Ni-ki to wake up. He had noticed that Ni-ki's phone was getting a few notifications, but he didn't want to invade his privacy, so he didn't check. After a while, the younger woke up. "Morning Ni-ki." Jungwon said with a smile, the younger responding with another smile. Jungwon noticed the younger's phone light up again and pointed to it. The younger grabbed it and his eyes widened.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." The younger swore, still staring at his phone. "What? Is everything okay?" Jungwon asked, Ni-ki shook his head. "M-my dad, he knows I'm gone. He knows I've been gone for a week." Jungwon's eyes were now wide, he was also scared for Ni-ki. The older fully sat up to analyze the situation. Ni-ki had already told him about his abusive parents, he also told him that he was 'fucked' when his parents found out. What did he mean by that? "Ni-ki, what's going to happen?" Ni-ki simply looked at Jungwon and slowly shook his head. "He's coming right now." The younger said. "What. What do you mean?"

"Jungwon, my dad is tracking me. He knows I'm here. He's coming. I'm going to wait for him outside." The younger's words made Jungwon panic. His dad was going to hurt him, he knew that. "Do you want me to come with you?" The older asked. "No.  Lock the door when I'm out there. I don't care what he does to me. You do not come out." The younger spoke in a serious tone, which scared Jungwon. Ni-ki stood up and started walking toward the door.

"What the fuck is he going to do Ni-ki." The younger just shrugged and opened the door. "Lock it." The younger said, to which Jungwon immediately followed his instructions. Jungwon sat by the window, watching Ni-ki stand outside, crossing his arms. After a few minutes, an old and rusty car showed up. A man holding beer in a white dirty tank top and cargo shorts got out of the car. Jungwon noticed a change in Ni-ki's behavior when he saw the man. Ni-ki looked afraid.

"YOU BRAT!" His father said, spitting at Ni-ki. "YOU FUCKING RAN AWAY? You stupid ass BITCH!" His father yelled while pushing Ni-ki to the floor. Jungwon was close to beating the shit out of the guy, but he remembered what Ni-ki said. 'I don't care what he does to me. You do not come out.' Jungwon focused back on Ni-ki who was laying on the floor. "Dad, I'm sorry..." Ni-ki weakly said, his dad laughed. "I should've let those men do whatever they want to you..." Jungwon didn't know what his dad was talking about, but Ni-ki did. The younger's eyes widened, and he looked at his dad with tears in his eyes. "TAKE THAT BACK!" Ni-ki finally raised his voice. "I COULD'VE BEEN FUCKING KILLED DAD!"

"DON'T YOU DARE RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Ni-ki's dad grabbed him by the collar and lifted him off the ground. "YOU DON'T DESERVE SHIT! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU LIVING WITH HUH?" His dad said, punching him in the face over and over again until his mouth and nose was bleeding. Jungwon couldn't stand it. "I'm sorry Ni-ki. But I can't watch you get hurt." He whispered as he grabbed the front door handle. He revealed himself and they both immediately looked at him. "JUNGWON! I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME OUT PLEASE!" Ni-ki was silenced when his dad slapped him across the face. "Oh, SO YOU TOLD HIM NOT TO COME OUT? YOUR HIDING THINGS FROM ME NOW?" His dad grabbed Niki's neck and tightened his grip around it. Jungwon ran to him and punched him in the face. "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?" 

His dad held his hand to where Jungwon punched. "Who the fuck do you think you are?" His dad said, walking towards him with his fists out. Jungwon noticed Ni-ki on the ground, struggling to breath. "I don't want to fight you, why do you hurt Ni-ki" Jungwon asked, slowly walking toward Ni-ki. "NONE OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS!" His dad threw a punch at Jungwon, which the younger dodged and then kicked him hard in the stomach.

His dad was now on the floor, Jungwon had enough time to pick up Ni-ki and carry him inside. He locked the door behind him, trying to block out his dad's yells. The younger wasn't fully conscious and was coughing constantly. "Ni-ki, I'm sorry but I couldn't watch you be hurt." Ni-ki found it hard to respond and just coughed and finally spat out some words. "T-thank yo-u."

Ni-ki's dad still stood outside, yelling and banging on the door. Jungwon ignored it and attempted to block Ni-ki's ears. The younger eventually passed out and Jungwon slept beside him, leaving his head face to face with Ni-ki's. The banging and yelling finally went away, and Ni-ki would be asking about it the next day but that's okay. Jungwon looked at Ni-ki/.

"I'll never let anyone touch my only sunshine."
