Chapter 1

You weren't really the type who'd do anything possible to make your crush notice you. Heck, you don't even have a crush.

You knew that a ghoul such as yourself, especially an Aogiri member, should not feel any humane feelings towards another. Youre not human to do human things anyway.

But at this point, you knew you have to do something to make him pay attention to you. Because if you fail, you knew the consequences you'll face.

You carefully watched with a bored expression as a certain white haired boy makes his way towards the shelves, probably finding another novel to read.

You smirked once you saw him standing a few meters away from you, his attention focused on the books infront of him.

Your eyes twinkled as you swiftly straighten yourself up. You grabbed the books you borrowed from the library and slowly made your way towards him.

"This is it." You muttered to yourself.

Then it happened. Everything according to plan. You purposely bumped into him, falling on your bottom and dropping all the books you were bringing.

He looked at you with an apologetic look. The white haired lad offered his hand and quickly pulled you up. He retrieved the scattered books on the floor and held it with one hand. "Are you okay?" He asked, worry evident in his deep voice.

Although his face doesn't show a hint of emotion, you knew he was worried. That's how he is anyway, so kind to the point that everyone took advantage of his kindness.

Like how you are going to take advantage of it.

"I'm fine," you faked a smile, "Look, I'm so sorry for bumping into you. I wasn't watching to where I was going and--"

"It's okay." He smiled, genuinely. He carefully handed you the books he retrieved, but his attention was caught the moment he saw one of the books you were now holding.

"You read Takatsuki Sen's books?"

You smiled at him as you nod, "Yeah. Her books are my favorite. Do you like her works too?"

"Well, Yeah. My favorite is actually "The Egg of the Black Goat". How about you?" He opened up, seemingly interested to you. You mentally patted your back to your successful plan.

You knew that once he finds out that you like Takatsuki Sen's books, he'll get automatically wrapped around your fingers. And so you grinned, "Well that actually is my favorite too!" You cheered, although you don't have the slightest idea what that book is.

"That's great." He smiled, "What's your name?"

"I'm [Last Name] [First Name], you?"

He timidly held out his hands, the smile on his face never leaving. "Kaneki,

My name's Kaneki Ken."

Honestly, this story was supposed to be a Sasuke Uchiha x Reader. But since I love Kaneki more, well..
