THERE WAS A knock at ally's door that distracted her from the music she was listening to while tidying up her room.
"come in." she yelled out.
jeremiah stepped into her room, "hey."
"hi."
"wanna come to the bonfire with me and the boys?"
"do they even want me there? i thought it was your guys' thing." she asked.
"well, i want you there, sooooo.."
he always knows how to get me.
"okay, okay, sure, fine, i'll go. only if one of the girls go." she promised.
"yes! thank you, thank you, thank you." he hugged the girl.
butterflies filled her stomach as he tightly kept his arms around her waist. the hug lingered for more than a few seconds, making both kids minds go crazy.
this feels different, jeremiah thought.
"let me know if you do." he told the girl before getting up and walking out the room.
ally cursed at herself for giving in to his charm. so much for distancing myself, she thought.
she looked through her closet of clothes for an outfit that would fit the bonfire. wanting to be comfortable, she chose a tube top and some sweatpants. quickly, she texted the group chat with her, belly and sydney asking them if they wanted to tag along.

IT WAS CLEAR that belly was uncomfortable. this scenery was new to her and you could see it by her crossed arms and her distressed face. back at home, ally and syd had been in situations like this too many times for them to count.
"yo, gas station girl!" an older boy called out.
ally watched as belly conversated with a guy who looked a little too old for her. she decided to lay off, letting the girl live a little.
looking around her surroundings, alaska spotted jeremiah talking to two other girls. she observed him while he laughed and joked with the girls. she watched the girls giggle in envy,
i need a drink if i want to get through this.
"i'm gonna get a drink." ally told her twin.
"okay, be careful!" sydney advocated.
"always."
ally made her way to the cooler full of beers. she grabbed one and didn't think twice about chugging it down.
when charlotte delgado passed away, ally spiraled. she spent most of her time going to parties and getting drunk, craving the feeling of not feeling anything.
