Kiran saw the Nohrian royals retreat. She let off a big sigh of relief. This battle wasn't easy by far. Sweat ran down her forehead. During the battle Takumi, a Hoshidian prince and one of the first heroes she summoned, was defeated and sent back to his world. It was a weird concept. No hero she ever summoned would ever die in combat. Instead they would be sent back.
This was actually a great relief for her. She may be a capable tactician but the possibility that someone might die under her command a heavy burden to wear. A burden a certain general knows all to well.
Alongside Kiran was Anna. She was in a similar state though slightly better as Kiran. She looked into the direction the nobles went. They both heard footsteps growing louder from behind. The quickly turned around a little bit on edge. it could be an enemy that hid themselves in the vegetation though rather unlikely.
Any worries were quickly dropped when the familiar faces of Alfonse and Sharena were running towards them.
Alfonse: "Kiran, Anna, are you alright?!"
Anna: "Alfonse, Sharena. Good to see you are alright."
Kiran: "We are fine but we lost Takumi."
With the group reunited they began to briefly revisit the situation they were in.
Anna: "Okay, let's summarize a bit. We managed to force the enemy to withdraw and they split up into smaller groups. Good, that gives us opportunity to fight separately."
Kiran put a hand to her chin while slowly nodding. She thought about Anna's plan agreeing with her but her thoughts wandered to the biggest danger to this plan. The mysterious person. They knew about the Nohrian royals. But the new one, he was a wildcard.
They knew nothing about him. He was no known hero, warrior or noble at least not in there worlds. And then there was this lingering familiarity.
Kiran: "I agree with you, Anna. They are in a weakened state right now which we have to take advantage of. However there is one thing I want to address first. It's about that one person. Did you two found something out, anything?"
Sharena: "I fought Xander. Alfonse was the one who engaged him."
Alfonse: "He didn't reveal much of him. I only got a name. (Y/N) (L/N). Some other things stood out however. He has a strong accent but I can't make out from where it comes from. His sword skill was ... different. He was skilled with it for sure but it felled like he he hadn't any experience in a real sword fight."
