-----First Person-----

*Bang*

I pulled the trigger. All battle seized to exist, all taken back by the loud sound coming from my weapon. The metal bullet zips through the air towards the unsuspecting prince. I watched it closely as it came closer to it's target.

When the bullet was halfway there the summoner leaped towards Alfonse and pushed him to the ground and out of the way of my bullet. The lethal projectile missed them but went straight through the hood.

Her hood was now hanging from her neck with a huge hole in it. As I took a closer at her, you can say I find her quite attractive.

My attention was quickly diverted to the prince. He was at his feet again glaring at my direction. I considered shooting again but decided against it because of the panicked look on the summoner's face.

She placed her hand on his shoulder and lightly pulling on it urging them to leave. Soon they followed her advice and the entirety of the group withdraw. The battlefield felled back into silence. The enemy was gone. The soldiers tired but also in shock. One of the archers turned to me.

Archer: "What was that?"

(Y/N): "Non of your business. Go, take the others. Make sure they have left this world."

Reluctant he followed my orders. Soon I was left with only two soldiers who started chatting among themselves. I didn't pay more attention to them. Instead I walked over to the battlefield.

I stopped and bent down to pick something up. It was a white scrap of cloth along with a red stain from where it was torn from. I realized quickly that it was from the summoner's clothing.

(Y/N): "Only a gaze this time summoner."

I remembered her behavior every time she saw me.

(Y/N): "You knew what was coming, didn't you? That's why dashed to his aid so desperately. We will have a long talk once we get there."

My monologue was interrupted by the loud banging of hoofs on a the cobblestone ground. I stood back up and turned towards the noise to see Xander along with his two retainers. One being a blue-haired girl with hidden bloodlust in her eyes. Quite frightening. The other was flirty-looking brown-haired male.

(Y/N): "Good to see you again. Could have gotten a little bit earlier here."

Xander: "Guessing from your attitude and your lack of troops I would say you had an unpleasant encounter with Askrians."

(Y/N): "I wouldn't call it unpleasant but yes. Regarding my units, they are currently chasing  the enemy."

I throw the stained cloth towards him which he then caught. He inspected and seemed to also realize from who it came from.

Xander: "So you have defeated their summoner. Be proud of this victory but I wished this victory would be as great as it sounds currently. Because, unfortunately, they freed the others from their contracts."

(Y/N): "... What?"

Xander: "They picked them when they were on their way to you and were defeated."

(Y/N): "Well, no battle without loses. We are still holding the defensive position and with the gathered intel from the fight we should be able the old a second wave."

Xander: "While your determination is admirable there is little point in doing so. Veronica hasn't invaded here for resources or any of that kind. Solely the heroes give her a reason to do that."

I silently accept his reasoning and sigh in disappointment. I walked back up the little hill to pick up my stuff for the inevitable departure. Behind me I heard the Nohrian prince order is companions Peri and Laslow to scout the area for any stragglers.

When I got back I put myself on the familiar leather of a sattle on my horse. I went next to Xander who seems to look around the area.

(Y/N): "I'm guessing we are returning than. We shouldn't let the little princess wait."

With this we began our long journey home.

-----Kiran Pov-----

My legs ached from the distance I ran. The stinging wound on my shoulder wasn't helping either. The heavy footsteps behind was my only indicator that the others were keeping up with me.

Kiran: "This could have been a normal fantasy adventure. But no, there had to be some kind of German soldier."

Normally the others would cover me in battle. It made me feel very save even on the battlefield. But he made it all disappear. He brought the thought of dying right back into the very front of my eyes. It scared me more than anything else.

It was only when we went back through the portal we slowed to a halt. I heard the heavy panting behind me from the others. I clutched my wound. It hurt like hell now that the adrenaline wears off.

Alfonse: "Kiran! Are you alright? You're bleeding!"

I turned around to a shocked Alfonse. I didn't even register that came closer because of the pain. His face was red from exhaustion.

Kiran: "It's nothing serious, just hurts. That guy... He..."

Alfonse: "That can wait. We need to get you patched up first."

-----Timeskip-----

My upper arm was now bandaged. While they did this I thought back to (Y/N). The encounter still let shivers run down my spine. We didn't learn much about the first world war but what I still remember is that people like him are nothing to sneeze on.

Sharena: "Is everything good now?"

Kiran: "Yeah, just still hurts a little bit."

My treatment took longer than expected. We set camp near the road that lead to the portal but not too close. We didn't want to get surprised by an enemy attack. The sun stood low but not low enough to paint the sky red. Anna walked into my view and looked at me.

Anna: "The scouts confirmed that the enemy has stopped their pursue. It looks like they wanted to make sure we left. Now that we are safe, Kiran, you wanted to tell us about their leader."

Alfonse and Sharena looked a little bit uncomfortable at me but said nothing. They probably think I need more time to recover and process but were curious non the less.

Kiran: "He... How do I put this? To be straightforward, he's from my world."

Alfonse, Sharena, Anna: "What"

They had a complete look of surprise on their face. Before they could asked any questions I continued.

Kiran: "He comes from a time that is long past, almost 100 years ago. I don't know how this is possible."

Sharena: "So we now not only have a skilled warrior but also a time-traveler. I hope that will not lead to something messing with time."

Alfonse: "This is worrying. But maybe... Kiran, do you know something else?"

I lightly shocked my head.

Kiran: "Unfortunately, no. He, himself, wasn't a historical person. From his clothes, probably only a commanding officer. What I know is that he is or rather was part of one of the superpowers of his time, the German Empire or from my time Germany. If he would get what he needed he would be a unstoppable force."

Sharena: "Maybe we can befriend him."

Anna: "Only you would come to this idea, Sharena. But it doesn't sound bad. With his background he shouldn't have any big reason to follow Veronica."
