IT TURNS OUT ryu yeong-cheol wasn't the only one with problems. though his situation was dire, it was not turned into a fat yellow cat, dire.
all he could manage out of his mouth was random splutters of words through his loud laughter, pointing and giggling like a grade-schooler would at the word 'doo-doo' or 'but'.
"you're a — a cat!" he managed through fits of laughter, clutching his aching sides painfully.
though his stomach and lungs hurt, he couldn't stop because every time he'd look over at the mound of orange fur that was kayden, the giggles started up again.
"i'll kill you . . . i'll kill you i'll kill you —" kayden muttered under his breath, retracting and protracting his sharp cat claws.
yeong-cheol scooped him up, nuzzling against him. for the first time, he could unexpectedly hold kayden; not that he'd ever thought about it before.
"get off! get off!" the cat began screeching, clawing at yeong-cheol's face.
the duo was too busy to notice the ringing of jiwoo's phone, nor the eerie figure watching them outside the large windows of the house.
"um, mr. kayden? yeong-cheol hyung?" jiwoo piped up, alerting both males at the presence of a new person.
the blonde turned in a flash, hands raised an a defensive motion before realizing that the unknown person was not exactly unknown to him.
"inhyuk?" with raised eyebrows, yeong-cheol waved a hand at the man.
he didn't seem too surprised to see him, only smiled that eerily-polite smile and lifted his hand to return the greeting. "hey, cheol."
"do you know him, hyung?" jiwoo asked, limping back over to sit down on the couch.
the blonde nodded. "he cleans up after me, you could say."
"speaking of which," inhyuk broke in, slightly irked. "would you mind fixing the mess you made last night? i'm getting a headache just thinking about it."
yeong-cheol offered the man a guilty smile and a thumbs up. "will do."
"what do you want with jiwoo?" he shifted the conversation, kayden now limp in his arms as he took a seat beside the teenager.
"shinhwa wants to help with his awakened abilities. we do this with all newly discovered awakened ones, so there's no need to be suspicious." inhyuk directed his words to the amber-eyed boy.
he only nodded.
"i only came to greet you, so you can think it over and decide. you have as much time as you need, don't worry." he added, standing up and adjusting his suit.
"you're leaving?" yeong-cheol asked, discarding kayden, who had dug around ten holes into his skin in anger, standing up and trailing after the man.
"yes. that was all i needed to say." inhyuk replied.
