3rd person POV
"What? When?" He asked the student. "Last night! after the Academiya had closed. The other Sages request that you see them immediately" And with that, he quickly led his way over to the other Sages where they stood in the Akademiya's museum, were "the scene of the crime" took place. They explained to Alhaitham that someone has broke into the museum at midnight to steal the artifacts, which were a piece of clothing, a comb and journal, that contained wording that the Akademiya could not understand.
"The language contained in that journal, is not a dialect that the Akademiya is familiar with. Nowadays, only Erimites who's ancestry is directly linked to King Deshret's empire still speak this language. But to find them..." the sage let out a frustrated sigh, letting his head rest on his hand.
"Who ever did this will spend a lifetime in prison"
"Can I investigate the area?" Alhaitham asked, then immediately got access to the museum. The findings were concealed in a glass case, which appeared to be almost untouched, not a finger print, or dust was shown on the glass. Not one item was misplaced in the room, it was spotless, as if no one had even entered.
Well, that's how it seemed to the average person. Alhaitham noticed that the room had traces of Anemo inside. That pans out exactly where the robber has been and that they did to steal the artifacts.
(A/N: everyone with a vision can use elemental sight, idk if that's just a traveler thing but in dis story everyone can 😗)
The first half of Alhaitham's day was filled with people asking him of his opinion on the situation, and what they should do about it. But as Alhaitham sought threw the museum for what felt like the millionth time, he stepped on something that made a crackling sound under his shoe.
'Sand? Hmm...I suppose the robber most likely seem like someone from the desert, someone who is most likely familiar with the works of King Deshret, Erimites perhaps?' Next thing he knew, he was in Aru Village with two Mahamatra's, Cyno and M/n.
As they investigated, well, M/n and Cyno were investigating while Alhaitham was sitting in the shade on a break. Though Alhaitham's eyes were glued to his book, he saw M/n approach him from his right and lean over to glance at the contents of the pages.
"What are you reading anyway?"
"Uhh...you probably wouldn't understand. The books I read are far too complicated for the average person, so there's no point in trying to explain it" Though his words seemed harsh, he was simply just too lazy to recap the whole book for the Matra. "Really?" M/n's eyebrow crooked upwards. He quickly snatched the book out of the Sages hand, catching him off guard. M/n quickly read the pages despite Alhaitham's objections. "Awww, he's reading a story book" M/n grinned wildly to tease Alhaitham. He snatched the book from the others hand and sat back down "The correct term is Non-fiction book, did you not read enough books to realize that some stories are true?"
"I can see you spend your time reading too much books due to the fact that a man with such a phsic has such slow reflexes"
M/n quickly stretched out his hand to steal the book again, but Alhaitham caught it and held a firm grip. He soon realized that it was all a trick, having M/n use his other hand to grab Alhaitham's other wrist and pull it up into the sky, having the book up in the air, and Alhaitham slightly hanging above his seat.
"Really sir?" M/n let go, but grasped onto the book. The surprised Alhaitham took a second to analyze the others phsic, after being able to hold his upper body weight. While he read the stolen book, Alhaitham looked up and down. Though he didn't look as strong as the sage, he certainly was when he wanted to. 'Never underestimate a Matra I suppose'
He shut the book and handed it back to Alhaitham saying "Don't worry, I can teach you about fight or flight reflexes so your not just a bulk of mass" He smiled innocently and poked Alhaitham's toned arms like a little child.
"Your very touchy."
"Thank you sir"
"Why are you calling me sir?"
"Sorry sir"
There was a long silence between the two, M/n smiling and Alhaitham looking miserable
"I can see how your Kaveh's friend. Speaking of which, aren't you supposed to be with him today?"
"Yes, but ever since the artifacts had been stolen, I decided that this was more important. So I just agreed to meet her another time"
This sparked up the question that he had been contemplating last night. Though it doesn't seem important it never left Alhaitham's mind, as if something in the back of his head wanted to know and was nagging his conscious about it.
"How were you able to contact your friend when an hour ago you said you were training all morning?" Alhaitham questioned but M/n quickly answered without a problem "I took a break to find and tell her"
Before Alhaitham could say anything else M/n blurted out "Wait where's Cyno?"
"But when-"
"You continue reading your story book, I'm going to find him" M/n left. Though you couldn't physically notice it, Alhaitham had a sense that M/n was trying to change topics. At this point Alhaitham started to suspect something of M/n. 'Could he have something to do with the robbery? There's a chance. But I can't interagate him, he seems like the type to take control of a conversation without anyone noticing. I'll have to find some evidence on him first to see if my theory is correct' He shut his book, his break was over.
