The BBC, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and Times,
Here to teach you all about, the worlds most heinous crimes.
A good news story; no, none of that! Hopelessness is what we need,
To keep the youth in such despair, that they cannot be freed.'The World Will End!', '20 dead...', 'bombings in the streets!',
I hope you like to hear about, all of mans misdeeds!
No cats were saved, no cured disease, no happiness or glee,
For all we want for you to see, is death and peoples' pleas.A brand new scandal every week, celebs have ALL the fun!
Look how rich, how fab they are; isn't this how you want to be?
Don't you want the fame and cars, the rings and scandals too?
Don't you want to be the one, who is here for all to see?Back to death, to loss and grief; don't think a happy thought!
We were at peace, but now we aren't, can't you keep up, life is fraught!
Destitute, down-and-out; violence, war and greed!
For those who haven't seen it yet, here is a man who bleeds!Foreign affairs; rivalries; jealousy and greed,
And while we can, lets throw in some, abuse and death and weed.
Don't try to hide, we will find you there, you will never again be free!
And if you cannot get a paper, we will show you later: on TV!Fear mongering is our 'MO', its where we make our coin!
So be afraid! Be very afraid! The end is at your door!
But don't be fooled, it really is; sitting right there on the floor!
If you don't want to bend down; its on TV, your phone and more!Instead of being informative, here's what should scare you!
So sit on down, gather around, and listen to this story about a coup!
The world is fierce, it is dangerous, it is scary and it is bad,
So be careful and head on home, and let us tell you just all that.No one is safe, in this mad world, that's what they tell you all,
And despite what you might think right now, some of what they say is true.
The violence is all there, although exacerbate is what they do,
The wars are rising like the tide, they seek the fame and glory too.But would you rather sit at home, read the news and live in fear?
Die a lonely death and work a soul-sucking career?
Or would you rather live your life, knowing that the end is near,
And still doing whatever you want, with a smile and with some cheer?Don't read the news, don't watch the news, don't listen, do not engage,
Simply take a step outside and watch the birds fly, free from their cage.
