Unbelievable

Marquis was a jack of all trades. He could sing, dance, rap, fix stuff and had the best coke in the state of the NY. I was dealing with a bonafide hustler and i didn't even know it. I went on the road with him to LA. While there i met Snoop, Tupac and all the other big time celebrities. He was well known and respected. Someone i didn't expect to see was his ex Shenise. I was standing in the crowd while her performed and Shenise pushed past me and stepped on stage. The crowd  began to go wild and he looked at her in shock. She took his microphone and began to freestyle before exiting the stage. The crowd went wild but i wasn't impressed. After the performance was over i walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Whats your whole thing? Why are you here?"

"Honey imma always be around we have two songs together."She laughed

"Okay well i am asking you not to do no shit like that again. It wasn't your song ."I said 

Marquis walked up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Baby chill. It was dope you can't even lie."

"She better get used to me...Lets not act like you wasn't on my phone last night."She snickered walking away.

"What is she talking about?"

"Nothing ...don't pay her no mind."He said pulling me towards the car. I couldn't help but feel like it was something more. I shrugged it off and got in the car. We headed back to the hotel and room service had a nice seafood dinner laid out.

"Listen i gotta go out for a little. Get in the shower when i get back im tryna have dessert."He smiled kissing me

"Okay."I smiled . Marquis grabbed his keys and left out the door. I got in the shower and put the tv on until it watched me. When i got up it was 5 am and Marquis was just walking in. He got in the shower and laid beside me. His breath reeked of alcohol . I turned my head and went back to sleep.  When we got up we went out to breakfast with his manager.

"Your boyfriend is the best artist i have ever had. His voice, his style, everything is what makes him a mega star."She gushed. She was a blonde haired white woman with glasses. She was one of the biggest music producers around.

"Thats good to hear."I smiled

"I've known Donna since i was 14. Without her none of this would be possible."He smiled holding my hand.  

"So where are you from?" She asked me 

"Queens NY"

"Nice nice.. "

"Her brother is my best friend."Marquis said

"Thats awesome. I am so glad you let Shenise go . That girl is crazyyyy."Donna said

We all laughed and continued eating our food.

"She is . I can't take it."Marquis laughed.

"Shenise and Marquis were together since they were 16. "

"Yeah...we broke up ...time just was up.. then i met Tia."Marquis shrugged.

I felt uneasy at his words because after you spent that much time with someone there is no way the love just died. He still loved her but didn't want to hurt my feelings i could tell. I rolled my eyes and continued eating. When we got in the car he noticed my complete silence.

"Whats on your mind?"He asked me.

"Do you still love her?"I asked him

"No...why you ask?"

"Because..You can't just fall out of love like that."

"Shenise and i weren't right for a long time...I don't love her anymore but i still consider her a good friend."He said

As much as he denied it i couldn't believe it. I let it go and watched the sky from my window as we rode around LA.  We stopped at the gas station and i watched as girls ran up to him and had him sign their shirts or arms.
