"Pregnant? Astaghfirullah... What? Why? How?" Islah began.
I was too shocked to say anything, so i just kept quiet. Except i forgot to close my mouth."What do you know Lisa?" Jemima asked.
"He.. he said.. he said he was not sane when it happened.." Lisa said trailing off. She looked like even she wasn't convinced.
"What? He was intoxicated? How can he be? He's the one 'lowers his gaze' around girls, and he's the one who tells you to go to all this ilm fests. How can he do this?", i said. I'm not going to hide my feelings. I suddenly had anger and rage for the a**hole. Such a pretentious hypocrite! "Let me call him and give him a piece of my mind!!" i said. I got up, and Jemima immediately pulled me back down on the chair."No, Aina. It's not our place to interfere. It's already bad as it is!" she said.
"But!! But! ARGGHHH!! I'm gonna cut his balls when i see him! And mark my words, I WILL SEE HIM! Tomorrow! Wait, tomorrow i have to go to the bank. The day after! Oh wait, i have to see ummi. NEXT WEEK!" i said.
Lisa let out a small giggle, and the rest also giggled at my not-so-threatening threats. Ok, without intending to, i made her giggle. That's one of my superpowers. I break ice very easily. Unintentionally though.
"Hehehe.. No No Aina. Although it would be hilarious to see you running at him with a knife and asking him if you can cut his balls. Hahahaha!!" Lisa burst out laughing.
"Ya! And imagine if that got in the news!" Islah continued. "Muslim girl in Tudung Labuh Cuts Of Guy's Balls For Getting A Girl Pregnant! HAHAHA!!'
"Wait wait! How about: Good Girl Gone Bad! HAHAHAHAHA!!" Lisa continued while wiping her tears.
We all laughed our hearts off and the girls kept coming up with headlines and i just laughed while feeling glad that Lisa is not drowning in tears of sadness, but instead tears of laughter. When we've all calmed down, Lisa let out a big sigh and held our hands.
"Thanks, you girls. I know you all want the details and stuff, but i guess i'm not quite ready yet. Tomorrow maybe? I just need some time to really digest it all. And i really want to talk to Him first." she said.
"Of course, we all understand. Let us know if you need anything, ok?" i said.
After that, we all went back into our bedroom, and Lisa and I did our sunat prayers. I did my tawbah prayer, and Lisa, wallahu'alam. When i was done with my prayer, Lisa was still in her sujud, and i could hear her crying softly into the prayer mat. Poor girl... It must've been a huge shock, but to see her faith is still strong as ever just amazes me.
In sha Allah, i hope when i face a big problem, i hope i can still be grateful and have faith in Allah and His plans. We can all plan, but Allah's plan is always better._________
The next day, after doing my errands at the bank and shopping for some vitamins, i went back home and found Jemima staring at her laptop. Sometimes i envy Jemima. She works online, and she earns a lot from it. It seems pretty easy too, though i have very little idea of what she does.
"Assalamu alaykum Mima!" i exclaimed.
"Oh, waalaikumussalam Aina." she replied.
"Whatcha dooooooinggggg?" i said while running over to her.
"Nothing much. Just some work. Why are you back already? Aren't you working already?" she asked.
"Eh no laaa! That reminds me. The offer letter should be in by now.." i said and ran off to our bedroom and took my laptop out. After logging in my email, i began to perspire under my pits. Gosh am i nervous! I saw the email immediately among all the newsletters.
Bismillah.. - i muttered under my breath.
