Sylvia sat on her section on her bunkbed, crying silently. Serenity already fell asleep but Sylvia couldn't handle her adoptive parents' death. Her mind was swirling with thoughts, making it impossible to sleep. All she could remember was when Serenity came back with that look in her eyes.
Slowly, Sylvia fell asleep, dreaming about unicorns, pink clouds and pineapples, Not. Her dreams were haunting, filled with eerily familiar voices. Memories rushed back, ones with her running away, that terrible day, and this one too. Yet one memory stood out, not her memory though. A day that had never been mentioned since it happened. A day of death.
Memory:
Blood streaming, rivers of it. Pain was felt that felt like hot lava pouring on themselves as knives stabbed their legs. Gunshots were heard, Bombs exploded, people died.
Only one thing meant that, War. The most horrible thing . Screams echoed across the war field as a dark shadow loomed over everything, Death.
As Death loomed over the field, she delivered a prophecy:
One will come to lead us to our downfall or save us all.
This one will shall be born near the end of the year, in fall.
That one will rule the universes and beyond when it becomes of age.
They shall become as wise as a old sage.
Yet there is a way to overthrow the one.
If you manage to kill the one before they become of age, they shall become the one.
Even if you overthrow the one, you will never be as wise as the one.
Beware.
Prophecy ended.
Murmurs were heard, as they watched the shadow flit away, quickly returning to fight.
Memory Done.
Sylvia shot up, restless from her nightmare. Silence, that's what you should hear during the nighttime.
Yet the cave is never completely silent. That's when she realized something was wrong. "Serenity! Serenity!" Sylvia quietly whispered, "Somethings wrong, the cave is completely quiet."
"Start packing!" Serenity whispered back, quietly getting off the top of the bunkbed and grabbed her backpack, filling it with her things. Sylvia copied Serenity quickly and they started going out of the cave.
When they looked around the cave, they saw that none of the animals were there, footsteps that were not their own was all around the cave, and all the traps were disabled.
This screamed one sentence, Somethings wrong. Serenity signaled using morse code to be silent and hide in the shadows.
As they hid in the shadows, they heard footsteps and chatter.
After multiple minutes passed, a strong loud voice rang out, "You didn't find them? Our lives depend on it, we have to kill her before she comes of age and that's going to be happening in 2 years! Even if she still is 15, she keeps running! And if you find her, don't forget to kill her sister. Don't forget to check the shadows. Do you understand me?"
Choruses of yesses flooded the cave and Serenity and Sylvia both knew it was time to move. They slinked across the cave, nearing the emergency exit they made in case there was an emergency.
As they finally reached the exit, they found out that it was blocked by an incredibly large rock marked with the sign of the Kantavans. They both started running quickly and silently, nearing the main entrance.
"Serenity? I think they might of saw you when you were scouting." Sylvia whispered.
"Oh no. This is all my fault. I should have been sneakier." Serenity replied, her face full of guilt.
"It's not your fault, but first we have to get out of here, quickly and silently."
As they started to near the entrance, the leader of the group saw them and said, "Catch them, they are near the entrance!!"
"Run!" Serenity said, "I'm right behind you!"
Sadly for them, men were blocking the entrance, leaving no way out.
Sylvia's nose got clogged by a sickly sweet smell, a sedative. "No! Don't do this!"
"Too bad, you're going to die."
