Levy Melts An Iron Heart

Chapter 2

The group found themselves in the middle of Fiore's desert.

"So, where is this bastard?" Gajeel asked impatiently.

Levy walked behind him holding Lily in her arms. "No idea, he said he'd be in this desert somewhere."

"Just be patient Gajeel. We'll find this guy and put him to shame!" Lily said.

"I just want to kick some ass! I don't care about his shame or whatnot." He said. He looked back. "Huh... You've been quiet for a while, shrimp. What's your deal?" He asked.

Levy jumped in surprise, not expecting Gajeel to ask her anything. "What? No-Nothing. I'm fine." She said nervously, turning red.

Lily, sensing that something was up, used his magic and grew wings. He picked up Levy and flew into the air.

"Lily?! What's the big idea?!" She asked nervously.

"I just have a few questions." He said.

"Why didn't you just ask me down there?" She asked.

"I was predicting that you wouldn't want Gajeel to hear." He said, continuing. To fly upwards.

Levy knew what was going on and her face went red.

Lily stopped his accent. "Do you like Gajeel?" He asked.

Even though Levy was expecting that question, she was surprised. "W-What do you mean?" She asked nervously.

"Do you have feelings for him? You know, a... A... What's that word?" He said, thinking of the right word.

"A crush." Levy said with an annoyed face.

"That's the word... Well? Do you?" He asked.

"What makes you think that?" She asked, trying to hide the answer.

"Well, considering the fact that your face turns into a shade of red every time Gajeel's name was mentioned, it seemed suspicious to me." He said.

"N-No. I... I don't have a crush... On Gajeel..." She said, trying to hide the truth.

"Levy... I don't want a lie." He said.

"FINE!" She yelled, even Gajeel heard her shout. "Maybe I've had a thing for him... Since the S class exam." She said, unaware what she had just revealed.

"There, was that so hard. You should know that I'd keep a secret like that." Lily said.

"I... I know...." Levy said, finally realizing what she had just told Lily.

Lily lowered them both to the ground.

"What the hell, Lily?! What were you doing?" Gajeel asked angrily.

"Just asking Levy a question." Lily said, crawling back into Levy's arms.

"What kind of question." Gajeel asked.

"Levy has a crush on Natsu." Lily said with a smile.

Levy smiled at the joke. "I do not!" She said, squeezing Lily.

For once Gajeel cracked a smile.

Levy smiled. "What's so funny?" She asked amusingly.

"Nothing! There's nothing funny about a misguided crush!" He said angrily. "Why am I so angry about this?! The shrimp can like whoever the hell she wants." He said to himself.

Levy noticed the redness forming above Gajeel's nose. "You're going red." She pointed out. "What are you thinking about?"

"N-Nothing... Idiot!" He snapped, turning redder by the second

"You're kinda cute when you're embarrassed." Levy said. Her face also went red. "I just called Gajeel cute! What is wrong with me?!" She yelled at herself in her head.

"I'm NOT cute! Don't ever call me cute!" He snapped.

"You can't hide the truth Gajeel. Accept the fact that your toughness is fading and your cuteness is growing." Levy joked.

"Sh...Shut it. I'm as tough as they come and nothing will change that! Let's go find that asshole who thinks he's so tough!" Gajeel said angrily.

"Did I just... Flirt with Gajeel?! Did that really just happen?!" Levy asked herself in disbelief.

Lily looked up and gave Levy a reassuring look.

"That was easy money!" Gajeel said excitedly.

"That guy wasn't so tough. I thought there would be greater challenge." Lily said.

"Nothing can beat a Dragon Slayer!" Gajeel said excitedly.

"Except another Dragon Slayer." Lily argued.

Gajeel looked back at Lily, who was being held by Levy. "You tryna start somethin." Gajeel yelled, getting close to Lily's face.

Levy went red. "Hey, watch it!" She yelled, pushing Gajeel away.

"Hey Shrimp! What's your deal?!" He said angrily.

"Gajeel... Do you understand where my current position is?" Lily asked.

"You're in Levy's arms, big deal!" Gajeel said.

"I'm speaking of the general area." Lily said.

"Yeah, what about it?!" He asked, beginning to get irritated.

"I'll put it in a way that you'd understand. You shouldn't get close to a women's chest." Lily said.

"I-I don't need a lecture!" Gajeel said angrily, figuring out what Lily was pointing out.

Although Levy was embarrassed, she cracked a smile and broke into laughter.

"Huh?! What's so funny shrimp?" Gajeel asked.

"Nothing. Let's get back to Fairy Tail, you big metal head!" She said happily.
