The Road Trip
(Alexander's POV)
I wake up with a start, glancing towards my clock that says 9:34. I gasp and run towards my living area, or whatever you would like to call it, and shake Peggy. Peggy turns over and groans. "Get your things! We go to Yosemite today! Remember?" Peggy shakes her head indicating a no. She plops onto the floor, she tried to do a gymnastics thing. I shake my head and go to my room, picking up my suitcase. I yell before she goes to her dorm to get her stuff. "GO WAKE EVERYONE UP!" I know what you're thinking, "Why is she here?" Yeah, Hercules had a party last night. I don't understand why. But it's Spring Break! (GREAT REASON TO CELEBRATE!) I can barely carry everything, plopping everything down on my living room floor. I almost plop down too, as I trip over the other things. "Why are y'all bringing so much?" Everyone turns to me with a stare of disbelief and above the crowd, Angelica shakes her head at me and seems to be ready to tell me off. "Alexander, do you not see how many things you have? Look at yourself! You could barely walk with all of your things." I annoyedly turn to her. "No! That was because you guys have too much stuff, and I tripped over it." I furrow my brows and Angelica, being the bossy one she is stands up and gets in front of everyone. She assigns cars and I realize this is gonna be a boring car ride. Me, Lafayette, Peggy, John, and Eliza. We all run down the flights of stairs. Princeton is a tall place. There's 1 floor for everyone's dorm, all of us are in the same one. Unsurprisingly. It's even extra stairs since the parking deck is under the dormitory. I know I am the best driver of all of us so my group herds into my so, very, small Tesla. I pull out of the parking space and drive off. The boring roads seem to be all we can see for a good amount of time.
(Lafayette's POV)
This is such a boring car ride. They separated me and my girlfriend! What's that about? I am way too annoyed about it. I decide I am not waiting any longer. I climb over the backseat and sit next to Peggs. Peggy turns to me and giggles as she sees me climbing over the seat, with a very noticeable struggle. It's been about 2 hours with nothing to look at on the road and we finally get a good glance at a rest stop, everyone is screaming at Alex to turn into the stop's parking lot. I jump out of the car and get a head start to sprint towards the vending machines, just shoving dollar bills into the machine. Poor Hercules is standing next to me, buried under a ton of bags of potato chips. Peggy giggles, her giggles are loud and adorable. She comes up next to me. "As my girlfriend, you would buy a bag of potato chips for me... right?" She puts a dollar into the machine, and the potato chips fall out. She grabs the bag and opens it, taking a chip and popping it into her mouth. "Hey!" I giggle. Pegs looks at me, turning my head with her hands, lightly. She kisses me on the cheek. "Why wouldn't you do that in the car?" I frown, and she starts. "Well, Hercules would call it gross." True, true. I nod. She turns to Hercules and takes the pile of chips off of him, he lets out a sigh of relief and she giggles. So freaking adorable. Alexander yells at us to get back in the car, we sprint down there. If Alexander yells it's because someone is here we don't like so we should probably hurry. We hop into the car and me and Peggy get in the very back, the trunk. I lay down and fall asleep, plopping my head down on her legs. I wake up and realize, it's about 3:00 AM. Alexander is forcing his eyes open. Peggy is now laying next to me. I kiss her head and stand up on my knees, the mirror shows Alexander has his eyes on the verge of becoming red. "Pull over, Alex." I say as I realize we are going to die if he is driving any longer. When we pull over, I get out of the car and as we are about to switch places (he's not gonna be next to Peggy obviously. better not be!) Alex catches a good glance at a coffee shop. He screams, "Coffee!" Everyone gasps awake and realizes it was all the fault Alexander. We all roll our eyes as we herd out of the car. "Yeah, it's closed. Why would a coffee shop be open at 3:00 AM?" I say as I look at him like the question is common sense, it is. I see Alexander inching closer toward the window. "Don't you think about it!" When Alexander is tired it's like he is a toddler. He looks at me, annoyedly. "Well, maybe if they didn't want people to come and get coffee they would lock their windows!" I watch as he shimmies through the window. Oh wow, what a friend. We all follow suit because I think he won't make it out without us. The shop looked old, the floors were dusty, and the room was cold. The stairs creaked as we walked up them. Alexander gasped as he saw the sight of a coffee machine. It was an old machine. "Alexander, don't do that! It's gonna be too loud!" Peggy yells. But he had already gotten started cranking up the machine. A loud sound came and we heard a car pass on the road, a police car. "We're gonna get arrested for you, Alexander!" Peggy wheezed. The police must've heard the stupid machine. We hear them pulling over. "Come out! We know you're in there." I shake my head, and Peggy kisses me. "That's for if we aren't in the same jail cell." I giggle, looking around for somewhere to hide. I catch a glimpse of a closet and point to it. I whisper, "Guys, let's go in there." We all shimmy into the closet, it's a pretty tight fit. Alexander rolls his eyes and I whisper yell at him. "Don't even! You got us into this." We hear the footsteps of the people outside. They seem to have noticed the closet. "They must be hiding in there." We hear coming from the outside of the closet. "I guess the criminal wanted some coffee." I hear them walk straight in front of the door. I look at every one. "Run, on the count of 3." I start the countdown. "3..2...1!" We all shove the door open and make a run for it, down the stairs and into the car. I hop into the driver's seat and step on it. I drive down the empty road at a very high speed. We turn onto a road to lose them and then down the road we go. At about 6:30 AM we pull into the cabin lot and all of us get out, the bags under our eyes are heavy.
