Mo P.O.V

"...the city of Vellos, at the Valgrace manor, a grup of reporters are waiting for Mr. Valgrace to make a statement about the death of his spouse, Nya Valgrace ,and the disappearance of their daughter, Monique." the newscaster announced, the frame shifting to the house I grew up in. My cousin turned off the phone and took out his earpice. "Are you ready, Mo?"
I glanced at him."Let's get this done ." He smiled."You look stupid in that thing,ya' know?"
I looked down at the black knee lenght dress I was wearing, then back at him."When was the last time you looked in the mirror?"
"Easy there you two, Lige is gonna come out any second now!" Milo, our friend reminded us through the mind-link he created.
We were waiting at the corner of the street, not far away from the manor. Milo was looking over the crowd from the roof of a nearby building. Inside, we had a kid who was offering us information, and two of my step-dad's bodyguards who I paid to let us out in case things go off the rails. Perfect plan, right? Well, depends.

After another few minutes, the gates oppened, letting the reporters in."That's your cue guys , good luck!" Milo wished us, as we made a run for it. A few of the people in the back looked at us over their shoulders, wispering to eachother afterwards.
As we reached the veranda , a man in a black suit made his apperance at the top of the stairs. He had cinder-grey hair, an inexpresive face that had a scar going from bellow his left eye to his chin -though it was nothing but a pale streak on his face, considering I made that scar five years ago. His green eyes lended on me, a flash of fear and surprise crossing over his face for a second.
One of the reporters took a step ahead."Mister Valgrace,it's been a year since the tragic death of your wife and the disapperance of your daughter. What do you have to say about this? Do you have any idea where she might be? Why did the search stop? Are you trying to hide somthing from the public eye?"
"As I last stated, my daughter is-"
"Right here!"
Everyone took a step back, letting me and Brian come through.
Lige tried his hardest not to show his surprise and anger, covering it with a fake smile.
He came down the stairs and put a hand on my shoulder. He mouthed the words you're dead , quickly covering it with a cheezy speach about beeing happy to have his ,,dearest daughter"back and how hard it had been for him to deal with the loss of his beloved wife all alone -I can't belive they actually bought all that crap!

The reporters tried getting interviwes with me or Brian, but the bodyguards showed them the way out. We were now alone ,time for the games to begin!

One of Lige's allies was staying the week to discuss something with him, so we had to keep the appearances for a little longer.
Lige insisted to ,,help me settle back in" . Once the doors to my room were closed, he turened around and gave me a murderous look."What in the Fire-Pits do you think you're doing here?"
I let the knife concealed in my sleeve to slide out a bit, just so I could feel its tip on my fingers.Just in case.
"What's wrong? I thought you were 'oh-so-happy' to have your daughter back?"
"Cut the crap!"he snarrled.
"Fine, fine! I can't belive I'm actually saying this ,but...I need your help." For a second, he looked at me dumbstruck , then burst out into laughter."Talk about a good laugh! But please, do tell, why should I help you?"
"Well, I do belive it would be a shame if the truth about my mom's death and my birth to be revealed, wouldn't it?"

He crossed his arms over his chest."You're blackmailing me?I'm impressed, little scorpio! Very well then, let me hear it: what do you need?"
"The man that's here, Norbert Wilgbright, he's here to ask you if he can host an auction here, and because you owe him and he's one of your strongest allies, you will accept, am I wrong?"
"So far? No. I am intrigued, continue."
"There will be an obsidian key on the list. I need you to get it."
"Alright. But one more thing, why do you need it?"
"That doesn't concern you."
He chuckled and leaned with his back against the door."I beg to differ! If you want my help, I need all the details."
"Might as well tell you."I sigh."You know what my proffesion is,don't you?"
He glanced at the hand where the knife was hidden."You're a first class assassin, working for that pest,O'Leary."
I nod, although I can't tell how he'd figure."You ain't here just for the auction, are you?"
I shook my head."One of the bidders is my target. Do you have anything against it?"
"As long as you don't get caught and never show up here..."
He headed to the door, then remembered something and half-turned towards me."Oh, and you better have a good story for the reporters tommorow."
I waved him off, knowing I wouldn't need to. I could just tell them the truth, that I stayed at a friend's house in Glastrigh, wanting to go off the radar for a bit. No one needs to know about the assassin part.
As I was lost in thought, I saw with the corner of my eye how the window opened. I gripped the knife by it's blade and threw it.
"Damn it,you idiot! You could've killed me!" Milo shouted, the knife stuck in the window frame ,a few inches from his head."Oh man, my aim needs more practice!"
"Screw you." He sighed, plopping himself on the bed."Holy Mae, my back hurts!
"Na-ah,I ain't sharing the room with you,not to mention the bed."
"Chill,Priest of Mae, Oath of celibacy and all." He threw a pillow at me.
I caught it and threw it back, hitting him straight in the face. "By the way, nice job you did back there."he said, getting up and propped himself in his elbows.
I crossed my arms over my chest and tillted my head."What do you mean?"
"Well, you evited Lige's question by subtly changing the subject. Seems like all that phsichology talk wasn't in vain after all."
"Oh, I did?" A sweat drop fell down the side of my head.
"Oh my Spirits, you are and idiot!" He sighed dramaticly. I thought assassin were meant to be smart. He thought, forgeting-or just not caring-that the link was still on and I could hear his thoughts.
