The Dinner

We stopped outside a small, cute restaraunt and again Chris opened my door for me, took my hand and lead me into the building. The lighting was dim and each table had delicate white table cloths draped over them with small, blue daisies and a single candle in the centre. I took a breath. Chris knew of so many gorgeous places that I had never heard of. He lead me to one of the tables and pulled out my chair for me. He was such a gentleman.

"This is one of my favourite places to eat." Chris smiled at me as he picked up one of the menus. I did the same and began flicking through it. The food was so pricey and I felt bad for not bringing extra money. Not long after, a small waiter walked towards us with a notepad and a massive grin on his face. He took mine and Chris' order - I only ordered something small so Chris didn't have to pay too much. The small man then scurried off back into the kitchen.

"This is lovely." I smiled at Chris, sipping at my water. "Thank you for today." I felt so awkward talking to him - this was my first date. I noticed the whole time he didn't take his eyes off of me and when he did it was only to take a sip from his drink or to adjust something on the table.

"Ella, you're the one who has made today. I should be thanking you, my love." He was so cute. My stomach was full of butterflies once again. I felt myself liking him and not just slightly - hugely. He was so perfect. His voice was soothing and he was gentle and sweet and kind. In the light of the candle, his face glowed. I watched the flame dance in the reflection of his eyes and he, too, was watching mine. Neither of us spoke. We just watched. I knew what Chris was thinking, and I could tell he thought the same. I wanted this again tomorrow. And the next day, and the next day, and the next day. This feeling was pure ecstasy. Nothing could ruin this for me - ever.

"I should of brought you a rose," Chris giggled. "But I wasn't thinking, I was too nervous." I smiled down at my lap.

"I should of got you something, never mind you getting me anything. This has been the most perfect day ever." I replied, quietly.

"It's not over yet, babe." he winked at me and placed his hand out on the table for me to take. I placed my hand in his and smiled at him. I was lost in him completely. My hands were really sweaty from the nerves and he giggled at me. The same small waiter who served us earlier scurried back over with our plates and placed them in front of us. The food smelt so good and it tasted good too. The dinner seemed to go on forever. We talked about everything. Art, music, books, everything. He told me such interesting stories about the stars and his favourite constellations. He told me different greek myths he was fond of, and he told me a few stories behind some of his tattoos. I had completely fallen - he had me. I was caught. Soon enough, we finished our meals and it was time to head home. I felt sick of the thought of parting him, but it had to be.

We climbed back into the car and fastened our seatbelts. Chris looked over at me.

"You really are something, Ella." he said gently  before starting the engine and heading back to my house. We continued our talks from the restaurant on the way. I had my eyes fixed on him and found it hard to look away. He made me feel incredible. We arrived to  my street shortly and Chris looked over at me. I watched him and he winked.

"You really do look beautiful in that dress, darlin'." I giggled at the comment and looked into my lap. He tilted my head up with one finger and traced small circles on the edge of my jaw with his thumb. Slowly, he leaned in and his lips wavered over the top of mine as his nose tickled my cheek. His eyes were fixed on my lips and I gently shut my eyelids and took in the moments.

"May I?" he breathed, his lips still hovering over mine.

"You may."
