I think Darren understands now. If he complies, I'll let him go.
& if he doesn't? Well...
For now, I need information—every contact, seller, & supplier. That's enough evidence to keep him in prison for a long time & once it's all over, the business will be mine & Mum will finally get out of that crusty one-bed bungalow.
I say a silent prayer & light a candle to Legba. That's why we're being kept here, I think. At least, that's what Mum would say. The lwa aren't happy, God isn't happy, and bad spirits have been let in.
I'm not sure how much of it I believe, but if it ends these cursed days sooner, I'll believe in anything I need to.
