Italics mean a character is talking in their head.

Dr. L is a guy who is pretty brave and strong. Literally the main character. He has pretty good melee combat skills, but prefers to use ranged weapons. He also always wears sunglasses. If you attack him, you're pretty much done for. He's A little bit crazy.

Appearance: Light tan skin, short blond hair swept to the side, green eyes.
John:
John is the head researcher at Laminax. That's pretty much all there is.

Appearance: Skin color is a little pale, his hair is short and blond, swept over, his eyes are blue, and has a stubble beard.
