Ella Pov:

"Ella!! It finally came!!! Come on down!" someone yelled for me. It was Cedric. Of course! How could I forget? My letter to Hogwarts!!

"Coming, Ced!!" I raced down the stairs to see mother sitting in the Lounge looking at me, with pride in her eyes. Ha! She's proud I'm not a Squib. That's good.

"Here! Open it sis!!!" Cedric beamed as he handed me my letter.

"Read it aloud, dear," Mum smiled at me, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.

I tore the letter open:

"Dear Ms. Ella Rose Diggory, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please refer to the enclosed list of books and equipment. All necessary books and equipment can be purchased in Diagon Alley. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl no later than 31 July.

If arriving via Hogwarts Express please make your way to Kings Cross Station and onto platform 9 3/4, train departs at 11 am sharp.

Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall. Professor Minerva McGonagall. Deputy Headmistress." I read my letter aloud. After I took out a piece of parchment, a list of books and other things I will need.

"I can't wait, sis!" Cedric exclaimed as he picked me up and spinned me around. He was spinning so fast I thought was going to spew my lunch.

Mother saw that I saw turing green so she scolded, "Cedric Diggory! Put your sister down before she loses her lunch!"

Cedric lowered his bright gray eyes that we shared, as he whispered, "Yes mum." And set me down. He slowly walked over to the lounge. It looked like he was upset at how mother yelled at him.

Mother never had a favorite out of the two of us. It seemed as if she hated both of us equally, like she didn't want children at all. Father on the other hand, had a favorite. It was my perfect older brother, Cedric Amos Diggory. – He ever so slowly sat down, but only I noticed. Mothers eyes were still glued to my face.

"So! When do we get my things!? In Diagonal Line?!" I exclaimed as I jumped up and down. This was going to be the best thing ever!!

"It's Diagon Alley, Ella dear. We can go in a few weeks, after your father gets home," mother stated with a monotone voice. How could she not be excited?!! I was practically leaping out of my skin. This is so cool!! I'm going to be a witch!!! Eeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

"Button, I know you're excited for Hogwarts but that was a tad loud," Cedric winced as he plugged his ears. I must have squealed out loud then...

"Sorry, Ced. I'm just so BLOODY EXCITED!!!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

"Merlin, Ella, calm down. It's just a school," mother tried to calm me down as she got up and walked over. Her lavender, mint scent filled my nose as she set both of her hands on my shoulders.

"Sorry mother. But it's MORE than just a school. It's a mixed school. Not like Beauxbatons, or Dumbstring or whatever," I rolled my eyes, mumbling the durmstrang bit so no one could hear.. Merlin, mothers hands are cold, so I shrugged them off my shoulders.

"Yes Ella. I'm aware of that dear. But that shouldn't mean anything. We might just send you to Beauxbatons, it's a very lovely school. Then you would never meet any boys!" Mother exclaimed. I wasn't fully sure if she was joking or not. And of courseee Cedric just had to cut in..

"Mum! I can look after better if she goes to Hogwarts! Plus, she can make so many new friends!!" He exclaimed as he jumped up from where he was sitting down. Ced was always looking out for me.. And even though most of the time I hated him for it, it was always nice to know that he cared for me.

"Cedric. Lower your voice. We still live in a muggle-filled neighborhood, we don't need any suspicion on us," mothers voice cut Cedric down a few pegs on the confidence spectrum. Even though Cedric was only three years older than me he was already taller than mother, who was a tall woman for her age, so when he stood in front of her, he towered over her.

"Fine, mum. I'm still right though," Cedric mumbled. Cedric was right about a hundred things every day, and this was definitely one of them. Even if I did go to Beauxbatons, I would've found a way out of it. Could you imagine? Me. In a school filled with French speaking, totally beautiful girls? I think not! I would probably get expelled in the first month! Mischief is practically my middle name!

"Cedric, Ella, please go upstairs and do something," mother pointed to the stairs that lead to the upstairs as she massaged her temples like she had a headache.
