Meerab sat in Murtasims study, surrounded by stacks of papers and law books, her brow furrowed with concentration. The room was dimly lit, with a single desk lamp casting a focused glow on the sea of legal documents before her. The clock on the wall ticked away the passing minutes as she tirelessly poured over the details of the case. A cup of coffee, now lukewarm, sat untouched on the table beside her.

Two hours had passed since Meerab locked herself in the study, determined to crack the complexities of the case. However, progress had been slow, and frustration started to settle in her mind. The weight of the responsibility she carried seemed to grow with each passing moment. She sighed, ruffling her hair, feeling the exhaustion creeping up on her.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Murtasim cradled their daughter, Meesam, in his arms. The soft glow of a nightlight illuminated the room, casting a warm and serene ambiance. Murtasim gently sang a lullaby, his voice a soothing melody that filled the air. He patted Meesam's back gently, hoping to lull her into a peaceful sleep.

Meesam's eyes began to flutter, her tiny eyelashes brushing against her cheeks. Slowly, she succumbed to sleep, her breathing steady and serene. Murtasim carefully laid her down in her crib, ensuring her comfort and safety. He then made his way to the bed, waiting patiently for his wife to join him. She had promised him that she would finish work early so they could be together.

Another hour passed, and still, Meerab remained absent from their room. Murtasim's patience began to wane, his concern turning into annoyance. He wanted to spend some quality time with his wife but she was busy burying her head in books. He reached for his phone on the bedside table and dialed Meerab's number, hoping to bring her back from her relentless work.

The phone rang multiple times, but Meerab did not answer. Murtasim's frustration grew, and he dialed again, his calls becoming more persistent. Finally, Meerab picked up, her voice filled with weariness.
"Kya hua hai murtasim, Jo bhi kehna hai jaldi kaho, main ek bohat important case pe kaam kar rahi hoon." Meerab said, her tone exhausted and slightly agitated.

Murtasim's irritation surfaced in his response. "Pichle teen ghanto se tum uss study main band ho meerab! Kya tum humare liye thora sa bi waqt nahi nikal sakti? Main thumare paas hona chaata hoon, Mujhe thumari zaroorat hai...meesam ko thumari zaroorat hai. Kya tumhe ye nazar nahi araha???"

There was a momentary silence on the line as Meerab absorbed his words. She felt a pang of guilt but was also overwhelmed by the gravity of her work.

"I understand, murtasim, lekin ye case bohat important hai. Logon ki zindagi dao pe lagi hui hai. As a lawyer mera farz hai ke main insaaf ke liye larun." Meerab replied, her voice tinged with exhaustion.

Frustration seeped into Murtasim's tone as he retorted "aik biwi aur ma ho ke bi thumara farz hai ke tum apni family ko time do lekin theek hai koi Baat nahi raho wahi , apne case pe kaam karo, thats more important hmm. Vo zyada zaroori hai. Humara kiya....  aadat dal lenge."

With those words, Murtasim abruptly ended the call, leaving Meerab feeling defeated and torn. She stared at her phone for a moment, her heart heavy with regret. Realizing the importance of her husband's emotions, she decided to put her work aside momentarily and head to their room to pacify him.

As Meerab opened the door, she found Murtasim nestled on the bed, their infant daughter sound asleep beside him. A bittersweet smile played on her lips as she observed their peaceful scene. She approached the bed, leaning down to press a gentle kiss on Meesam's forehead. Then, she tried to kiss Murtasim's cheek, but he turned his face away, still visibly upset.

Undeterred, Meerab gently laid a hand on Murtasim's arm and spoke softly, "I'm sorry, murtasim, mera maqsad tumhe hurt karna nahi tha. Bas aaj kal mera sara dhyyaan Iss case pe tha aur main jaanti hoon
ke mujhe apne kaam aur family ko balance karna chahiye.  Tum aur meesam mera sab kuch ho. I promise main ab tum dono ke liye waqt nikaloon gi. Gussa thook do please.....kab tak naraz rahoge apni meerab sai hmmm?"

Murtasim's anger softened as he looked into Meerab's earnest eyes. He relented, his voice filled with both frustration and affection. " meerab, main bas yeh chahata hoon ke hum hamesha saath rahein, ek dusre ka sahara banne.....I miss u.....I miss our time together. Aur tum poora din Office Main behti rehti ho, it's not good for u jaan. Itna stress na liya karo. Breaks Lena bhi zaroori hota hai "

Meerab nodded, her voice filled with genuine remorse. "I understand murtasim, aaj ke baad main vaada karti hoon ke main humari family ko zyada time doon gi. Apne kaam aur personal life main balance doondhu gi..... ab naraz gi khatam?"

"Naraz gi khatam meri jaan. But vaada Karo ke tum apni health ko bhi prioritize karo gi " Smiled murtasim. Meerab nodded as he placed a gentle lingering kiss on her cheek.

With their hearts slowly mending, Meerab and Murtasim crawled into bed, wrapped in each other's arms. They talked softly, expressing their concerns and desires, finding solace in their shared vulnerability. The weight of their argument lifted as they embraced the warmth of their love.

As exhaustion finally caught up with them, their voices softened to whispers, and their eyelids grew heavy. They held each other tightly, knowing that they would face whatever challenges lay ahead together, as a team.
