Amber's P.O.V.

As we made our way into the hall I was shocked by just how beautiful it looked it was big with balconies surrounding the main floor and it seemed to be covered in hues of gold and yellow. On our way over to the party, I helped Matt with his mask even though he said he didn't need the help. I mean if I'm honest with myself it was just an excuse to be close to him and I think Karen and Foggy noticed.

As Matt had turned around to me in the car I could have sworn there was an odd sense of familiarity more than just then it just being Matt but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I let it go figuring I'd ask him about it later.

As we walked in I fixed my mask onto my head adjusting it slightly before wrapping my arm around Matts. When I did so I could have sworn he leaned in. I smiled as we all walked around for a little bit Matt and Foggy mingled a little bit. I leaned in to inform Matt of who we were approaching as I had done some research beforehand with Karen and I would note if they aligned with Nelson&Murdocks views.

Matt's P.O.V.

I couldn't help but note the soft feeling of her dress as she let me slip my hand around her waist when one of the lawyers standing across from us made a comment that seemed to make Amber uncomfortable. Amber leaned in and whispered something softly sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't help but smirk when I heard the exact same guy grumble something about how he couldn't believe a blind guy got her or something else before he walked away.

We walked around for a little bit more before she mentioned she and Karen were going to get drinks and asked if I wanted anything. With a quick answer, she was off and as she walked away I felt almost cold like her leaving took all that was keeping me warm despite the building being on the warmer side and me wearing a well-tailored suit jacket.

As Foggy walked with me we chatted about many things but the one I most enjoyed was hearing about how Amber looked in her dress. Foggy had made a comment about how the girls could still look so good despite running away from the mess that was Amber's ex. I was still annoyed that I couldn't slip away to do something but at the same time, I enjoyed being able to be so close to Amber.

From the way Foggy described how Amber looked it reminded me of a description of Persophone as she ran the underworld with her husband by her side. I couldn't help but smile as he noted that I looked a little like Hades and he made a slight joke if maybe it was done on purpose. I walked with Foggy over to another group of people but I didn't really pay attention as I was more honed into Amber and Karen as they talked and I listened closely to her heartbeat.

I could feel myself scowl when I heard the bartender flirting with Amber but I was pleasantly surprised when she said she was taken by the man in the red mask she walked in with. Of course, as he walked away Karen poked at Amber about how she had a cute guy flirting with her but she choose to say she was dating me. Amber simply smiled and said she could only hope making me smile just a little bit more.

The night went by as if a dream once the girls came back with drinks. As I finished off mine the songs that were playing shifted and I felt Amber shift towards me before I felt her breath drift against my ear as she asked me to dance. I agreed as she lead me out onto the main floor and my hand quickly drifted to her hip and hers to my shoulder as our others clasped softly around each other. She seemed to fit perfectly against me as we softly moved from side to side. I couldn't help but feel as if relaxed into a dream feeling an odd sense of relief and calm. I held her as close as I could.

We danced for what felt like hours and I never wanted to leave as she began to hum and lean her head on my shoulder. As time drifted I was absorbed in nothing but her.

At the end of it all the team made our split I took Amber to her apartment and Foggy took Karen to hers so that the girls could gather some things for their stays at our places. Amber was calm as we traveled to her place only seeming to grow anxious as we reached her door.

As I softly placed my hand on her lower back she seemed to relax into my touch making me smile. I took a moment to listen into her apartment hearing two heartbeats one was accompanied by a light snore while the other was accompanied by the typing of a computer.

Just her roommates

I took a deep breath as Amber unlocked the door She grabbed my hand and we walked to her room. As she released my hand she shuffled around her room gathering some things and seemingly shoving things into a bag. Before quickly walking over to Alisa's room and knocked and then knocked on Nathan's door. As they walked out Amber gave a quick notes version of events and begged her roommates to stay safe and find somewhere or find a way to keep this place safe. After that, she hugged Alisa and we made our way back to the apartment.

As she walked into my apartment she dropped her bag before she stopped for a moment before sitting on the bed seeming to take in everything all at once. I made my way over and sat next to her as she leaned into my side she seemed to cry I slowly pulled her close before she slowly lifted from my side and kissed me. I was stunned for a moment making her slowly begin to sit back about to apologize until I pulled her back in and kissed her. The kiss was soft but needy and it was filled with craving but made myself release her slowly we sat back. I could tell she was smiling and so was I.

We took a moment before she slipped away to take a shower and to change letting me sit there for a moment smiling as I listened to her hum the tone that had played during our dance as she used the shower.
