Chapter 17 First Task

Y/N and Hermione look at each other. "Well that was funny" Says thr Werewolf making her girlfriend roll her eyes. The two girls then walk to their dorm room.

Y/N is dating on her bed when Hermione joins her she has a notebook and pen in her hand. "Let's talk about your plan for the first task" she says making Y/N groan, she completely forgot about the tournament.

For the next couple of hours the two work together to form a plan for Y/N to survive the first task as it was only a couple of days away.

Third person pov...

It was the day of the first task, Y/N was beyond nervous, The only thing stopping her from going into a full on panic attack is her Girlfriend and Dad being there for her, Papa would of come but of course hes still an escaped criminal.

Currently Y/N was waiting for Dumbleddore to and start the task, outside the champion tent the crowds are cheering, people are taking bets, Harry is pacing nervously next to his Godsister.

Suddenly they hear Hermione, who is standing by the tent door
whispering in. "Pssst! Harry? Y/N? Is that you?" she whispers making the two lean closer to the tent. "yes mione its us" whispers Y/N back.

"How are you feeling? OK?" she asks knowing it was a stupid question. "sure definitely okay" whispers Y/N sarcastically she could see her Girlfriend rolling her eyes at the Werewolf. "The key is
to concentrate. After that you just have to..." she trails off nervously.

Harry finishes it for her "Battle a dragon." He mutters, suddenly Hermione enters the tent and launches herself into Y/N and Harry hugging them both tightly, A bright camera flashes, Rita Skeeter the journalist approaches.

But remembers what happened and stays away from Y/N, said student glares dangerously at the woman. Rita eyes her and looks at Hermione and Harry. The trio let go of each other.

"Young love! Ohh how.. stirring. If everything
goes unfortunately today you might make
the front page." She says earning a growl from Y/N, who wraps a protective arm around her Girlfriend.

Viktor Krum then approaches Rita and stands infront of her. "You have no business here. This tent is for champions and friends." He says to the annoying woman. The woman takes another picture "No matter. We've got what we wanted." She says snootily before finally leaving and Dumbledore enters.

"Good day champions. Gather round please.
Now you've waited, you've wondered and at last the moment has arrived. The moment only four of you can fully appreciate." He says the champions gather around him in a circle. He then notices Hermione. "What are you doing here Miss Granger?" he asks the girl.

Hermione looks at Y/N before awkwardly leaving "Oh um.. Sorry I'll just go." She says before kissing Y/Ns cheek leaving behind a blushing Werewolf and her snickering Godbrother. "Barty. The bag."

Barty Crouch then pulled out a bag. "Champions, in a circle around me, Miss Delacour over here, Mr Krum, and Potter over here, Miss Lupin-Black, Right. Miss Delacour, if you will..." says the man, Barty holds up a bag. Fleur takes out a little green dragon.

"The welsh green. Mr Krum.." Viktor takes another out

"The chinese fireball. Oooooh." Cedric picks one.
"The swedish short-snout. Next miss Lupin" Bart says, Y/N gulps before reaching in she then pulls out her dragon. Y/N looks at it in wonder. "Ahh the Romanian Longhorn (had to do alot of research into dragons), Which leaves..." "The horntail..." whispers Harry, he then puts his hand in the bag and pulls out the dragon.

"The hungarian horntail. These represent very real dragons, each of which has been given a golden egg to protect. Your objective is simple, collect the egg. This you must do, for each egg contains a clue without which you cannot hope to proceed to the next task. Any questions?" asks Barty to the group of students in front of him no one answers.

Barty then leaves, Dumbledore wraps his arms around the champions shoulders. "Very well. Good luck champions. Mr Diggory
the sound of the cannon..." The cannon fires immediately, rocking the tent.

Timeskip...

Y/N is sitting alone, Harry went before her, she is nervous. Suddenly she hears dumbledores voice loud. "Four of our champions have now faced their dragons and so each one of them will proceed to the next task. And now our fifth and final contestant."

Y/N enters the rocky arena. The crowd are cheering her name, She can see Hermione sitting with her Dad. Ahead of her she sees the golden egg sitting alone, she makes a run for it but the dragon appears. Y/N is forced to retreat behind a rock.

The Romanian Longhorn had dark green scales, and two long, glittering golden horns. The Longhorn preferred to gore its prey with its horns before roasting it. Y/N breathes deeply before jumping out from behind the rock and leaping out of the way.

Y/N then points her wand at the dragon "Confundus!" she shouts, the dragon then stops attacking and becomes confused, Y/N dived behind a rock again making sure the dragon cant see her. Good thing her and Mione did some research on new spells.

Soon the dragon was back to trying to roast the girl. "shit" exclaimed Y/N as the dragons fire burnt her hand a bit, Then she sees some rocks and points her wand at them. "Wingardium Leviosa!" she shouts ans the rock begin to float.

She then sent the rocks flying towards the dragon, they hit it hard on, the crowd cheers even more. Remus has a proud look on his face as his daughter holds her own, Next to him Hermione is gripping tightly to her wand watching her girlfriend fight for her life.

Back to Y/N the 14 year old uses this chance to move closer towards the egg, she wasn't far from it. As she goes to move the dragon tried to stab her with it horns "Stupefy!" comes her yells and the dragon is forced away.

This gave Y/N a chance she begins to run towards the egg as she did she didn't see the dragon fly up and suddenly drop making her go flying to the right. The H/C girl groans as her back makes contact with a shard rock.

The crowd gasps as she lays motionless on the floor the dragon creeping closer. Remus is suddenly standing and shouting. "Y/N! wake up you need to wake up!" he yells over the crowd.

As if it was a miracle Y/Ns eyes slowly opened, just in time as the dragon was going to pounce. She got up ignoring the pain she felt and dodged out of the way, the crowd went up in cheers again.

This time she doesn't bother with dodging. "Bombarda!" she yells making a couple rock fall on the Dragon making it roar in pain, this gave Y/N a chance and she went for it the girl grabs the egg and runs firing spells over her shoulder.

"Flipendo!" "Impedimenta!"

When she makes it back into the tent safe she collapses from using to much magic.
