Albedo enjoys the warm sun shining on his face as he downs alfredo because his name is Albedo. A knock on the table gets his attention.
"I see our Chief Alchemist is back from Dragonspine," the slim blue haired man greets. "Welcome back."
Albedo adverts his gaze from his cheesy, creamy, delicious alfredo to make eye contact with the man. Not to his surprise, it's the Knights of Favonious' Cavalry Captain, Kaeya himself.
"Oh, Sir Kaeya. Yes, um...I've decided to come visit the City of Mondstadt for today. Klee was really excited about the news."
"Really? Huh, where is Klee?" Kaeya questions.
"Klee's doing something, Barbatos knows where. I'm no babysitter," Albedo explains, taking another bite of his food.
Kaeya stares at the pasta on Albedo's plate.
"...Is this a new thing they're selling at Good Hunter?" He beseeches.
Albedo shakes his head and continues eating. His eyes peek at where Kaeya was standing. ...He's still there. Is he watching him? Surely he doesn't judge people by how they eat, right?
"You got a little something—"
"I got it," Albedo interrupts, putting his hand up. He wipes the sauce from the corner of his mouth and puts it on his plate. He gets up to put it away like a civilized person.
"I'm meeting with Sucrose later as well. If you want to do anything with me, don't hesitate to come to me. I'll find some time," Albedo tells Kaeya.
"Thanks for the notice, Mister Alchemist," Kaeya thanks. Albedo nods and walks away.
*Spending some time with little alchemy (AHAHA GET IT CAUSE LITTLE ALCHEMY???? remove this) boy doesn't sound like a bad idea,* Kaeya thinks to himself.
"Uh...are you in line or not?" A random lady asks Kaeya.
"My apologies."
Jean knocks on the door of the room Albedo and Sucrose are occupying. She hears a loud boom and Sucrose yelp. Out of worry, she opens the door.
Sucrose has her ears covered, facing the other way. Albedo is probably taking note of their recent discovery.
"Strange...we've never had that sort of reaction before," Albedo mutters.
"I-I'm sure I got the right ingredients, yet...th-the reaction broke—" Sucrose cuts herself off. "M-my glasses! Not only did it break stuff on the table, but it broke my glasses, too!" The green haired girl begins to worry.
"Sucrose!" Albedo says.
Goodness...what could he want right now? I thought I told him I have plans at this hour.
"Where is he?" The alchemist asks.
"He's near the library's doors. He said it's empty right now, so it's the perfect place for you to speak with one another."
Albedo walks out of the room and into the main room of the Knights' Headquarters. He slows his pace when he spots the Cavalry Captain standing near the library door, messing with his hair.
Albedo takes a deep breath and continues his path.
"Ah, there you are. It seems that Master Jean *did* allow my message to get through."
"Kaeya, I thought I explained that I'd be busy at this time. I'm almost done, so...maybe you can wait."
"Wait?" Kaeya asks. "Why wait when you're here already? I don't want you to have come all the way here for nothing." Kaeya opens the library's doors. His eyes peer around. No one's there. Lisa's out, too. "Come. While it's still empty."
Kaeya takes a seat as a book title catches Albedo's eyes.
"Why did you call me here? To help you find a book?" Albedo asks.
"No...the matter is much different from that topic, I'm afraid," Kaeya tells Albedo, shaking his head.
Albedo freezes. What could Kaeya want from him? Why him in the first place? If he needed help with something, he could've at least asked Jean, or Amber, the Traveler, even! No, the Traveler would be too busy traveling...
Diluc? Nah. He's heard that the two don't get along.
"Albedo, take a seat," Kaeya says, patting the chair next to him.
