“Whatʼs wrong with you, Henry?!” Braxton shouted who was currently lying on the floor.

I turned my gaze to Henry who was still calm.

He stared blankly at Braxton. “Why are you treating her like this?”

“And what do you want, huh? Weʼll treat her like a queen?” naasar niyang sabi habang inaayos ang kaniyang sarili.

“Remember; she’s the daughter of Mrs. Griffin,” untag nito.

“I don’t care!” asik niya.

Tiningnan niya ako ng masama na may halong pagbabanta bago niya kami tinalikuran.

“Why do you do that?” I asked Henry when he finally looked at me.

Why did he push Braxton? To stop whatever it was planning for me? Why did he help me when Braxton was his true friend?

He looked away. Hindi ko alam kung naiilang ba siya sa akin or he just really donʼt want to see my face.

“Nothing, I just want to help you.”

“Do you think I need your help?”

He didnʼt respond.

“I can defend myself,” pagpapaintindi ko sa kanya.

He nodded slightly before turning his back. I watched him walk away from me until he disappeared from my sight.

He cares about me because I am the daughter of their adviser? But what if kung ibang tao ako? Will he still help me?

I took a deep breath.

His left hand was in his pocket, while the other was holding a book with his finger stuck inside the page.

I was behind him, still holding my laptop and book.

“Stop following me!” his command was full of authority as he suddenly stopped walking. Nanatili pa ring nakatalikod sa akin.

Napahinto rin ako sa paghakbang.

My brows furrowed because of what he said. “Excuse me? I’m not following you! Iʼll also go to the cafeteria,” I said, trying to hide my irritation.

Napaka-assuming ng singkit na ‘to!

We continued walking until we reached the cafeteria.

I was amazed when I looked around inside this cafeteria. Malaki at malawak ang loob. The design is beautiful. The huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling are more attractive and the floor is made of marble tiles. There are many white rectangular tables and black banquet chairs.

All the students here are rich. Everything is very expensive.

I never thought of studying here before, instead I chose to study in a public school.

So when I become a licensed professional teacher, I will teach here so that I can immediately save money for my future.

I want to earn money on my own.
