The cafeteria buzzed with lunchtime chatter, the aroma of fried food and sweet treats filling the air. Jisoo sat at a table with her friends, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé, their laughter blending with the general din. Jisoo felt a lightness in her heart, a sense of contentment that she hadn't felt in a long time.
"This is the life," Lisa declared, taking a bite of her burger. "Sunshine, good friends, and no drama."
"Speak for yourself," Jennie teased, nudging Lisa playfully. "You know I'm always ready for a good dose of chaos."
Rosé giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Don't worry, Jennie, I'm sure we'll find some drama soon enough."
Jisoo smiled, enjoying the camaraderie of her friends. She had been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately, with the fake relationship with Taehyung and the lingering feelings for Seokjin, but being with her friends always lifted her spirits.
Suddenly, a familiar voice interrupted their laughter.
"Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late," Yoongi said, taking a seat next to Jennie. He had a mischievous glint in his eye, and a tall, handsome guy stood beside him. "This is Jinyoung. He just arrived in town and Taehyung asked me to show him around."
Jisoo's heart skipped a beat. Jinyoung! She hadn't seen him in a while, and she had been wondering what he'd been up to. He looked a bit different, more serious, and his eyes held a depth she hadn't noticed before.
"Hey, Jinyoung," Jisoo greeted him, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks. "It's nice to see you again."
"Hi, it's Park Jinyoung nice meeting you again" he smirked and even offered ah handshake.
"Hey, Jisoo," he then replied, his voice a little deeper than she remembered. "It's good to see you too."
"So, Jinyoung, what do you think of our school?" Yoongi asked, his voice laced with a playful tone.
"It's pretty impressive," Jinyoung replied, glancing around the cafeteria. "I'm surprised how big it is."
"Yeah, it's a bit overwhelming at first," Jisoo said, trying to hide her nervousness. "But you'll get used to it."
"I hope so," Jinyoung replied, his gaze lingering on her for a moment.
Jisoo felt a strange pull towards him, a sense of familiarity that she couldn't quite explain. She knew that Taehyung's cousin was probably just a normal guy, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. After all, she had never met him before, and Taehyung had never mentioned having a cousin.
A few minutes passed, and the conversation shifted to other topics. Then, Jinyoung turned to Jisoo, his eyes holding a newfound intensity.
"You know, I was thinking," he said, his voice low and husky. "It would be nice to see the campus. Maybe you could give me a tour?"
Jisoo felt a flutter in her stomach. He was asking her to spend some time alone with him. She glanced at her friends, who were engrossed in their own conversation, oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere.
"Sure," she replied, trying to sound casual. "I'd be happy to."
As they walked out of the cafeteria, leaving her friends behind, a strange silence fell between them. Jinyoung seemed to be lost in thought, his gaze fixed on the ground. Then, he stopped, his eyes meeting hers.
"Jisoo," he began, his voice soft but firm. "I need to tell you something."
Jisoo felt a shiver run down her spine. She had a feeling that whatever he was about to say, it wouldn't be easy.
"Wait, so you're... Taehyung's cousin? But... how? I never knew!" My mind was reeling, trying to process this unexpected revelation.
"Yeah, I know. It's a long story. We haven't really been close, but we've kept in touch over the years," Jinyoung said, his voice calm but his eyes filled with a strange intensity.
"This is... a lot to process. So, you knew about the fake relationship? The whole thing?" I felt a wave of disbelief wash over me.
"I... I know this is a lot to take in," he said, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "But I need you to trust me. I wouldn't have told you if I didn't think it was important."
Jisoo's mind raced, trying to make sense of his words. She had never imagined that Jinyoung would feel this way about her, and his warning about Taehyung and Seokjin only added to her confusion.
"I... I don't know what to think. You're Taehyung's cousin, you knew about the fake relationship, and now you're telling me you're protecting me from Seokjin? What am I supposed to believe?" My head was spinning.
"Just... trust me. I know this is a lot, but I need you to stay away from both Taehyung and Seokjin. They're both dangerous, and I don't want you to get hurt," he said, his voice laced with urgency.
"Dangerous? What are you talking about? What's going on?" My heart pounded in my chest.
"I can't tell you everything right now. But I'm telling you, you're in danger. Please, just stay away from them. I'm not asking this for myself, I'm asking this for you," he pleaded, his eyes filled with a sincerity that I couldn't quite decipher.
"I... I don't know what to say. This is all so confusing. But I... I can't just ignore what you're saying. I need to figure out what's going on," I said, my voice trembling.
"I understand. But please, be careful. And... I... I have to go. I'll be in touch," he said, his gaze lingering on me for a moment before he turned to leave.
"Wait... Jinyoung..." I called out, but he was already walking away.
Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the air. "Jisoo, what are you doing here? Let's go." Taehyung stood behind me, his expression dark and tense. He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Jinyoung, his grip tight.
"Taehyung, what's going on? Who is he?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
"He's no one you need to worry about. Just come with me," he said, his voice firm and unwavering.
I tried to look back at Jinyoung, but Taehyung pulled me along, his grip tightening. He was watching us, his face a mixture of concern and anger.
"Stay away from her. I mean it. You don't want to get involved in this," Taehyung said, his voice cold and menacing.
"I'm not going to hurt her. In fact, I'm trying to protect her from you," Jinyoung retorted, his voice filled with a quiet defiance.
"You don't know what you're talking about. Just stay out of this, or you'll regret it," Taehyung warned, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity.
Taehyung pulled me away, leaving Jinyoung standing alone, his face grim. As we walked away, I noticed Seokjin standing at the corner, watching us with a cold, calculating expression. He didn't approach, but his eyes followed us as we left.
"I won't let you hurt her. I promise," I heard Jinyoung mutter under his breath.
"This is getting interesting," I heard Seokjin say, his voice a low, dangerous whisper.
I felt like I was caught between two sides of a coin, each side representing a different truth, a different danger. I didn't know who to believe, who to trust. I only knew that I was in the middle of something much bigger than I ever imagined, and I was afraid.
