I look out my window looking at my neighbor's house. My neighbor, Louis, had paged me. I fixed my wavy brown hair and looked in the mirror and straightened my eyebrows with my thumb. I curled my lashes with my finger. I smiled at myself because I felt pretty. I love my rosy cheeks and my brown eyes. I answered the phone and looked at his window seeing Louis waving at me. Louis was tall, nearly 6 feet tall and he was fit. He randomly had a massive glow-up after 10th grade and I'm going to be honest. He was hot. He had a brown curtained haircut, brown eyes, clear soft skin, rosy cheeks, and a pretty smile. What more could I ask for? I finally say something. "What do you want it's almost three in the morning." He gave me a flirtatious smile. "what? I can't say hi to my favorite neighbor?" I smiled at him. "You are an idiot Louis."
He tilted his head to the side with the same smile. "True but I'm your idiot," he said. When he said that, I think I died inside. But not in a bad way. "Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?" I wanted to say yes but then I remembered I already had a plan going on after school. "I wish I could but I have to go to this Gender reveal at this park nearby. We could hang out there?" He nodded. "Okay, I'll see you then. I gotta go to bed before my parents catch me up." I laughed a little. I don't know why I laughed but I did. "Okay good night then, I'll see you after school." He leaned against the wall. "See you later beautiful." He put down the blinds and hung up. If I didn't die before I definitely died now. I turned off my lights and lay down on my bed. I couldn't stop thinking of him but at least I had something to think about while I'm asleep. The next day I woke up and got ready for school and I put on a tight-burgundy polo shirt, low-flare jeans, and black hightop Converse. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs to the kitchen to drink a glass of milk before heading to school. My little sister, Lainy, was sitting here in her princess chair eating cut-up chocolate chip pancakes out of her pink bowl. My mom was walking down the stairs in her royal blue turtle neck which was tucked into her mom jeans. Her hair was to her shoulders, straight, dark brown hair. She was holding a black jacket in her arms. She was ready to take Lainy to the doctor for a check-up. Lainy was already done eating her pancakes and drinking her juice. My mom picked her up, putting her cup, bowl, and fork in the sink. My mom looked at me and noticed I didn't have a jacket on. "Jayna put on a sweater, we are in the middle of October and it's 63° out." She demanded. I ran upstairs and quickly grabbed a green jacket and run back downstairs. I say my goodbyes to my mom and kiss her cheek and then Lainy before walking out the door. I didn't take the bus because I lived six minutes from the school on foot. I would usually walk with my neighbor Lucy and her brother Louis. I was in the middle of the two. Louis was a grade above me, he was in 12th grade and Lucy was two grades below me, she was in 9th grade. I was walking alone because I didn't see Lucy or Louis out so I assumed they might've walked to school earlier. While I was walking down the street I couldn't help but feel eyes on the back of my head. But every time I turned around no one was there. The colorful leaves were flowing in the breeze. As I was walking I noticed that the dogs I passed were staring at me. I don't know why they were staring and growling at me but it was getting weird. There was a sound in the tall bushes next to me. Rustling and twigs snapping. Suddenly the bush stopped moving and making noise. I held my breath and I most definitely didn't blink. Louis comes out yelling with a creepy mask. I jolted away from him screaming. "Gotchaaa." He took off the mask laughing and his sister, Lucille, was also laughing. "That was priceless. I love October." I hated that mask since I was little. Louis and Lucille have always popped out wearing that mask to scare me and of course, it always works. The mask had a peach color and skin texture with scars kinda like Chucky. It gave me an uneasy feeling. But to be fair every mask gave me an uneasy feeling since the  "Halloween" movies. He put the mask in his bookbag and we walked to school. The only time I had a class with Louis was during 2nd and 5th period which was AP French and Criminal Justice. I had lunch with him on odd days (1,3,5,7) because I am in the same class so therefore we both have 3rd lunch. But on even days (2,4,6,8) I had 2nd lunch. Lucy has 1st lunch on both days.
