You can Run but You can't Hide

Chapter three: The bang downstairs.

I froze for a second, my heart was literally in my ass and I ran to the room. Knowing that a girl from my school was missing and hearing a loud noise coming from downstairs I was not gonna wait to see what it was. "What's wrong?" Louis looked at me concerned. "Something downstairs broke or something there was a loud bang," I whispered. Footsteps were coming up the stairs. The person was getting closer and closer to Louis's room. "What was that?!" Louis looked panicked. "Maybe it's the kidnapper," Ethan said jokingly. Louis smacked him. "Dude. Shut. Up." Louis said annoyed at Ethan because he wasn't taking this seriously. I locked the door and ran back to the bed staring at the door. Somebody knocked on the door. I don't know, but I don't think killers knock on doors. Unless they have evolved. I looked at Louis and Ethan. hesitantly, I said: "Hello?" "Do we answer it?" Louis said. "I mean they are already inside the house." I open the door. And there she was. Alexis Bailey,
my best friend since 6th grade. Her natural hair color was brown but she decided to go for a blonde look, her eyebrows were brown, thin, and full. Cupid lips, tanned skin, falsies, and usually always have gold jewelry on.
  "Hey guys; I tried to get in through the front but it was locked so I went through a window instead and accidentally knocked over a vase...sorry about that!"
I screamed out her name. "Lexi!" I hugged her as if I hadn't seen her in years (I saw her in 3rd period) she hugged me back and turned over to Louis who was yelling about something. "Don't come in like a home invader while a kidnapper is going around.. kidnapping!" Louis emphasized how serious the situation was. "Oh as if somebody cares about you that much to kidnap you," Lexi said rolling her eyes and sitting on the bed. Louis rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. I looked at Louis smiling. Since I lived next door, I frequently had sleepovers at Lucille and Louis's house. It's always been my second home. "Um..do you guys wanna have a sleepover?" They all agreed. We organized the room so we could put an air mattress, grabbed a couple of blankets and pillows from storage, and set up the mat. "You guys wanna build a pillow fort?" Louis looked at us holding a pillow. "What are you? 12?" Ethan said. "I'm kinda tired. You guys bore me." I said jokingly. The reason why Ethan said that was because he wanted to look tough in front of Lexi and me. I know he secretly watches Gilmore Girls and wished that Rory got with Tristan Dugray. Louis put his hand over his heart, heartbroken. "Ouch, I'm so heartbroken." I was actually getting tired and I wanted to know the sleeping arrangements. "Who am I sleeping with?" Ethan looked at Louis. "I wouldn't mind sleeping with you." Louis winked at her. Ethan looked at Louis with an eyebrow raised. "What do you mean by that?" Louis didn't answer. Lexi was standing there like Emma Watson as Hermione Granger in The Sorcerer's stone chess scene. I turned red. Louis was always flirting with me and I could never tell if he was serious or not. "But actually though I don't mind," Louis said finishing his sentence. I think I died again. If my mom heard what he said I wouldn't be allowed to come over or be here alone. "I think Louis may have a little crush on you, Jayna." I looked at Lexi shocked. She knew I liked Louis. After a couple of years of liking him, would this year finally be my shot? Louis's cheeks light up a little. "What? No, we're just joking around." Lexi smiled. "Aw, his cheeks turned red. I was gonna sleep with Jayna but you can totally sleep with her. You guys are adorable." I was really embarrassed but I knew that maybe there was a possibility that Louis liked me too. "Whatever Lexi." Louis sat down. It was about 2:30 in the morning. Louis's mom was already mad because we were screaming or laughing too loud. We were tackling each other, doing gymnastics, dancing, and trying to scare each other in the dark. Usually when I was the only one that slept over. It was pretty calm but with Lexi?! Lexi would set the house on fire before falling asleep. As time ticked by, the lack of sleep made us giggle over everything. Lexi and Ethan were acting like a bunch of toddlers after eating candy and soda did breakfast. It was quite a show. Louis yawned getting tired from being hyper. "Im starting to get tired. I think it's time we actually go to bed" We all calmed ourselves down and laid back. Lexi waited for us to be comfortable so she could turn off the light. I hated the dark but luckily Louis always had his Lava lamp on."Goodnight guys, good night Jayna," Louis said putting the covers on us. Shortly after they settled in, Louis fell asleep. While we were asleep Louis had wrapped his arms around me cuddling with me. I had my head on his chest comfortably.
