After school, my parents picked her up and drove me to the park. There I met with Louis and Louis's best friend, Ethan, at the Gender reveal. Ethan was in the same grade as Louis. Unlike Louis and I, He was Jewish. Ethan had rose-beige skin, a Nubian nose, brown eyes, and brown curly hair.  "Hey Louis, I didn't know Ethan was coming." I smiled a bit. "Yeah sorry about that, we already had plans but I forgot I hope you don't mind," Louis said. I nodded. "Yeah, it's fine." "Sorry to crash y'all date, I'm just here for the food. Did you guys hear about the girl who went missing?" My eyebrows looked as concerned and confused as me. "It's not a date. Who went missing?" I hadn't heard about anyone going missing. It wasn't on the news and no one was really talking about it. "Some girl, I think her name was Anna or something. Her mom went into her room to wake her up but her window was open and she was gone." Ethan looked at Louis and me as if he was telling a ghost story. "Maybe she just snuck out or something?" It is possible she just snuck out or ran away. But maybe in this case it was a Richard Ramirez situation. "Or maybe..she was kidnapped," Ethan said. "It's possible. When did this happen?" He shrugged thinking a little. "A couple of days ago." "Hm." I didn't know what to say but luckily Louis did. "My brother is coming to town this fall break." His older brother, Caleb, had been away for about a year since he was in college and out of state. Later after the gender reveal and many cousins and family members later, Louis, Ethan and I decided to head over to Louis's house. When we walked inside Caleb was there. "Surprise." He put his cup of coffee down on the counter which he was leaning on. Caleb looked a lot like Louis, tall, fit, with pale ivory skin, faint rosy cheeks, softly arched eyebrows, soft downturned lips, a brown curtained haircut, and a soft cleft chin. Louis and Caleb were 4 years apart and from what I heard, he found a girlfriend in college.
Louis smiled and hugged his brother. "Hey, how's college?" Caleb nodded. "It's going well, I've been to a couple of parties and the classes are pretty boring. How's high school?" Louis shrugged. "It's good, great actually since I got these too." He put his arm around Ethan and me. "We all better be careful, we could all end up like Anna," Ethan says moving away from Louis. I looked at him suspiciously. "Why do you keep mentioning her?" I asked him. I didn't know him as much as Louis did. All I know is that Ethan was in his grade and had a swimming scholarship. "I mean she was kinda a nobody until she got taken. I spoke to her like a couple of times and then bam, she's gone." Ethan said as he leaned against the couch. "Can we please not talk about her anymore, it's kinda creepy." He made a face "Fine fine, sorry princess." He crossed his arms. It was quiet until I finally said something. "Anyways..what do you guys wanna do?" "We could play a game?" Ethan nodded. "What game do you wanna play?" I said. "Never have I ever? Louis replied. "Sure." "Okay okay, never have I ever..been on a date?" We all put a finger down. A few rounds later we were getting bored and it was nearly 5 PM. "I'm bored. What should we do now?" Louis said. "We could watch a movie?" I suggested to which Louis responded with, "What movie." And I said, "hm, mama mia?" Louis was fine watching it but Ethan thought it was "too girly." To which Louis replied: "You're a little girly." I smiled and I headed upstairs. "I think Iron Man would be better," Ethan said as he followed me up the stairs. "Just give the movie a chance. You'll probably like it." Louis said from downstairs as he was looking for the popcorn bags in the cabinets to make some for the movie. Ethan and I sat on the bed. Louis's room smelled like a bath and body works candle but the good kind. He had a couple of BMX and car posters on the wall along with some classic 80s and 90s movies. A nightstand that was also a bookshelf. The nightstand had a small lamp with a silver boom box on it. To the left was his desk which had a couple of textbooks, notebooks, and a pen holder with a couple of pens, next to his desk was a tall bookshelf that had tons of VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, different bmx magazines, a desk phone with buttons, a green and blue lava lamp, a red and white electric guitar which I think he gave up on after a few months of trying to learn, marvel comic books, and some trophies he's gotten over the years in school and sports. Once the popcorn was done, Louis headed upstairs with a bowl of popcorn and sat next to me putting his legs under the covers and setting the popcorn on the nightstand for a second. He grabbed the remote and put on the mama mia movie. Ethan went over and turned off the lights and Louis set the popcorn on the bed for everyone to grab. A couple of minutes in, Louis put his arm around me and I laid my head on his shoulder. Ethan looked at us giving us the "I knew it and I told you so" look. Louis and I snuggled up and I will not lie, I was comfortable. A couple minutes into the movie Louis fell asleep and Ethan was staring hard at the TV. I'm pretty sure he was enjoying the movie. I needed to use the bathroom so I tried getting out of Louis's side without waking him up and I headed over to the bathroom. Once I was done, I washed my hands. When I stepped to the hall I heard a loud bang downstairs.
