Chapter 6: The water room

"Where to?" I asked. "Follow me," Rachel said. So we swam to a room that had a sea shell cutout. "Line up your seashell necklace to the cutout," she told me. "Where'd you learn all this stuff?" I asked. "From Deanna," Rachel said. "Every mermaid and merman have a sheet that tells them what everything is about." "Where's mine?" I asked her. "In your room." She said. "But this time yours is in a plastic case." I opened the case and took out the sheet. I read until I found where the water room was.It said, 'the water room is a place to transform you from a mermaid/merman to human.' 'Well that helped a lot!' I thought. 'Wait- do you need to change your top?' I looked at it again. 'Rules: no changing tops, do not lay on ground.' "Oh." So I closed the case and found Rachel, waiting. "What took you so long?" She asked. "Reading," I said. I had to understand it, right?" "That is true," Rachel admitted. ",But hurry; the water room closes at 10:00, and it's only 8:50. So by the time we get into human form and go out for dinner, it will probably be 10:23." "Oh no!" I whined, smacking my forehead. "What do we do?" "Well, everyone else will be at the restaurant too, so we're not the ONLY ones." "Do we book a hotel outside the ocean? Like, on land?" I asked. "Um, no," Rachel said. There's a portal, that takes us to our rooms too, and it closes at 11:15, but when we get into our rooms, we just will have to survive being a human for one night. Fair enough?" "I guess so," I said. So I put my sea shell necklace into the cutout and magical sparkles came out. There was a voice who said, " Skylene Maina." "How does that-" I started to say, but then Rachel put her finger out and said, "I'll tell you later." When we got into the water room there were seats and a towel. I put my seashell necklace into its case and sat in one of the chairs. Then the water drained out and we became humans. I was still wearing my purple bathing suit from before, and I was also wearing my cover up, which I found in my drawer in my room. It was like the "last minute thing." "Ready?"Rachel asked, and we swam to a reaturant. "This is called 'the fishes tail.'" Rachel said. "The fishes what what?" I asked ('cause I didn't here.) "no! The fishes тαιℓ." "Ohhhhh!" I said. "I see it now!"
