Happy Birthday Mari

Adrien POV

Today is Mari's birthday, and because it is Saturday, mom had the idea to throw her a surprise party. My job being to keep her busy and out of the house, while everything is being set up. Though she didn't exactly specify what we had to do, this was my area of expertise, Mari was going to have so much fun. I decided to start the day by waking her up. I creep into Marinette's room, to see that she is already awake and she is singing.

I never knew that my princess had such a sweet singing voice. I was going to start clapping but she ran into the bathroom, and I could hear that she was crying through the door. She was also talking to her self.

" I'm sorry, I am so so so so sorry mom, it's all my fault. I should have been better. Things wouldn't be the way the way they are if I had been better. And I don't know what to do without you here. I miss you giving me advice on how to deal with boys, and you telling me how much you care and that you could never be mad no matter what I did. Mom..." And she just continues to sob, I wanted to burst in and comfort my girlfriend. Comfort my sister, but I couldn't my legs were stuck and my mind was wondering to places I never thought that I could even find myself wondering. I took one more look at Mari, and decided that she needed me now more than she ever may have needed me before. 

" Mari?" I ask quietly pushing the door open.

" A-Adrien hey, wh-what are you doing here?" She asks, standing up straight and wiping the tears from her face.

" Well I uh, first off Happy birthday, and second I uh wanted to take you out, so we can spend the day together. I have things planned up until 7." I say. My mom said that I needed to have Mari home by 7 in time for the party. 

" Um ok, I will get ready then and meet you downstairs for breakfast." She said, with a smile. Not her usual smile but it was an effort. I couldn't help myself anymore, and I pulled her in a tight comforting hug,

" I love you Mare I really truely do, I want to make sure that you know that, I will always be here for you no matter what, I will always have your back and you can tell me anything." I say and kiss the top of her forehead, and begin to head for the door so she can get ready. When she grabs my arm.
