Angels. Or rather, more officially, guardian angels. Everyone has one. All the time. Everywhere they go. Every guardian angel follows a series of very complicated depending-on-the-situation type rules. Which is why sometimes horrible things happen to good people. And that's why some people have such horrible lives.

Like Ruby. And her family.

And Anastasia. When she was alive. . .

Anastasia is a guardian angel. More specifically, she's Ruby's guardian angel. And when Ruby dies she leaves behind a single request. One wish. And as not just Ruby's guardian angel but her friend as well, Anastasia will stop at nothing to fulfill it.

Even if it means falling in love and putting her own fate at risk.
