Chapter 24

"Hello Nam?" Freen picked up Nam's call. She still glanced at Becca who was enjoying her second ice cream. Freen smiled at the cuteness, Becca looked cute. However, what Nam said over the phone made her silent, her smile disappeared, resentment grew quickly in her heart.

Mr. shon announces the news about Saint.

But, not only about Saint.

Also, about Freen.

Freen was furious now. The old man never cared about herself. Until now, he only kept thinking about his company. Maybe if someone else had received the news, they would have been overjoyed and celebrated. But Freen didn't.

"Freen, the news apparently has been spread since this morning." Nam's voice was really worried and there was sadness hidden, Nam said again, "I beg you don't panic, or whatever it is." Nam really understood Freen's situation right now, "Please calm down, Freen."

"..." Freen hasn't answered anything, now her eyes are full of anger, but Freen is calm. She didn't talk dirty or like someone else would get angry, Freen wasn't like that. If she is angry, she just stays quiet, doesn't say much.

Nam knew Freen was angry now, then she said again, "I'm sorry Freen, but I don't understand all that news." Nam's sad voice is very clear now. She questioned herself, Nam felt confused and upset.

When Freen heard her sister's voice tremble slightly, as if she was about to cry, Freen finally said, "Nam, I don't understand any of this either." She swallowed the heaviness inside of her for a moment, then said again, "Really I'm so angry right now. When I see you next time, I'll explain everything." Freen breathed fast, then slowly calmed down to say something to her sister, she said, "Don't be sad Nam, after all that story, you are still my sister." Freen waited for Nam to reply, but it seems Nam was still surprised by everything she received. Finally Freen ended the call.

Becca heard everything, she understood what Freen was talking about earlier. She just kept silent while listening to Freen and Nam's conversation.

Becca waited for Freen to speak, but for a moment, Freen seemed lost in thought. Becca wanted to comfort Freen, but she couldn't find the words right now. In an instant, she felt useless, she couldn't lighten hers lover's heart. Becca felt heavy now, she was a little tight, as if what Freen felt had entered her heart.

Freen was lost in her thoughts, she suddenly said, "Bec, I never wanted to have a life like this." Freen's gaze drifted to the end of the street, they were sitting on a bench in front of the shop. Becca, who was beside her, immediately grabbed Freen's hand. However, Becca just silently listened.

Freen said again, her face was very sad now, "All this time I really feel enough with Mother and Nam, but," Freen didn't want to get angry, but that feeling had taken over her heart, "But why does he have to get involved in all this?" Freen says about Mr. Shon, her father. Freen doesn't want Nam to know the truth, but it turns out that the old man is spreading rumors about who she is. Freen said again, she didn't feel like crying even though the atmosphere was emotional, she just felt a deep disappointment, "Nam, she must be very sad and broken."

Freen knows her sister loves her mother very much, in Nam's eyes, Freen's mother is the one who gave birth to her and gave her love. So far, they live happily and believe in each other that their bond is close, like a complete family.

Becca couldn't stand it, she felt like crying, but she held it in. Becca wrapped her arms around Freen's shoulders, not only wanting to calm Freen, but she wanted to relieve the tightness that was deep inside her. She needs Freen and Becca knows too that Freen needs her right now.

By remembering how sad Nam is now, Freen's cries that can't come out, seem to be blocked in one place, slowly suffocating her and finally the heart feels broken by all of it. Freen wants to meet Nam right now, she wants to hug her sister and say don't mind everything, we are still family. But Freen realized, this problem is not that simple. Nam will not listen to her words, Nam must be in trouble facing the truth. And Freen knows, Nam is not that strong.
